All Weather
The label is one of my favorite. Nice and easy. Needs a new main zip. Will eventually get it to Dena. This is how I replaced the Eagleson. Similar leather, if not the same. Awesome jackets.

I like your All Weather. I think I will grab this out of the closet. It is sorta small on me and I've gotten a big bigger. Dave Sheeley re-lined and made detachable collar.

Most All Weather labeled jackets I've seen are well made working jackets.

I'm thinking the Brent label replaced the Windward label in c.1960 much like the Oakbrook label replaced the Hercules label in the early 60s. There are more than one Brent label, though I don't know how many. The Brent label is not often seen as the Sears Oakbrook.

This is a favorite jacket just because I like the fit and feel. I will get a shot of the Brent label. I believe it is different

Yes, I too equate Brent with the Oakbrook years. My Brent is nice steerhide. Its label has to be a later variant, probably the next to last before the transition to the Montgomery Wards labels (70s+) and the lesser jackets they were in. Brents, like Oakbrook, seem to move towards a more common, less special steerhide as they move away from the 50s and into the 70s. My guess is that my jacket is later 60s. Exactly like the hide of my Fidelity Steerhide.

Here is what I think is the first Brent label

Later you see the black label in mine, another black label, and the one with the blue/turquoise strip.

I think this black one is the last Brent label before it jumps to Montgomery Ward labels.

I feel like I’m missing one. I mostly see the black label in mine and the one with the blue half-stripe design. I’ve only seen the Brent that says Windward once, and it was on a jacket here.

The middle label is the one in the jacket I posted above. I think you have all the Brent labels pictured and in the correct time line.

Yes, Oakbrook and Brent are similar quality.

Next we need to define the change over for the J.C.Penney labels. This is the Penney label after Sportclad ended in the early 50s. I don't know the labels used after.

Here are a few earlier Penney’s. Once you get into the 70s they used a large amount of different labels. Too many really. Kinda cheap looking too.

This last one may be post 60s. Wool jacket though.

The middle one looks like a really early label. Maybe a contemporary of the Sportclad one. Maybe earlier? Got that look. There is a label of a 40s/50s maker out of Salt Lake Utah that the middle one reminds me of. I have to search for it. Edit:: Just found this label in Tanaka’s book— it states 30s

That’s the one we discussed before I purchased it. It is really nice. And it looks like it inspired the guys at FCL to do their mismatched panel thing.

I remember it well. The All Weather collar is the gold standard. Highest tier.

That’s the kind of leather and aging that would get me into that style too.

Add: I think I recognize that flooring. Etsy seller where I bought my Sportclad. This guy finds nice stuff.

Most of my vintage gear fits in a spare bedroom closet. I just sent my All Weather, Fidelity HH and a Hercules to Dena for some upkeep. I always worry USPS is going to ship my stuff to Egypt or something.

I've been saying it for awhile now and I'm trying to figure it out myself....there is just something about these old jackets. The satisfaction level is deeper for me. I must be getting sentimental. Maybe it's a desire to slow things down in my own life...watching my kid scream through adolescence at break neck speed...I dunno. Or maybe it's just b/c they are cool AF. I suspect that I am just now beginning to actually collect jackets, rather than pass them through a revolving door. Of course that could all change in 15 minutes. LOL.
