The Barbisio, rain spatters and all. Exquisite!
Thank you, Robert.
Wolfbrae for a Sunday outing.

Heathered grey all around: distinction!
Simply, wow. These Sunday posts are ALWAYS such a sublime treat. I'm going to go with the Panizza Oro for #1, the Borsalino Nutria Gualita and the Borsalino Gorasgu in a dead-even tie for #2, and the Barbisio in third place. Thank you for sharing these beauties!
Thanks, Marks. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the Lee info!
I seen yours recently, I think.
Curious, Does your Lee have a unique name embossed in the sweat?
A few years ago I saw a cream colored one with the slash dash whips, don’t remember its brand, but I remember thinkin it was the coolest hat and would like to find one, but doubted I ever would.
There’s the Gay Prince, of which I’ve previously owned three, and now this Robin Hood—which I will keep.
I also have a 40s Stetson Tijuana (GP clone)
Seems this style was cloned as much as any highly copy catted hat.
They are very unique styled hats for sure. And have grown on me. I’ll have to check my Lee... but I do not think they stamped a model name on the sweat. My most recent Disney acquisition arrived and its manufacturing tag says Disney Hats. Danbury CT looking just like the Lee tags.

I have been wearing this “His Excellency” homburg quite a bit the last few days. This is a Dalton production, though it doesn’t say so anywhere.

I removed the brim binding so i could manipulate the brim more - it's originally a homburg.

Yes, your "His Excellency" is the reason I know this as a Dalton.
Interesting Nathan and Jim @Frunobulax

I'd say a Lords Hat is more than just a Homburg sans brim binding. It's also to do with the overall shape: compact, tight, etc.

Why would Dalton not have their name on your hat, Nathan? It sure looks like a hat liner of some of Jim's Daltons: of which he knows I admire.

Let's work together on this guys. We might all be a little bit wiser in the end. Isn't that why we're on the FL?

So here is how this hat originally looked before I removed the binding. This was before I started feeling a conscience about cutting up old hats, but I still have the binding if I want to put it back on.

The question of the relation between the “His Excellency” line and Dalton is interesting, but we don’t have a clear answer. There are no indications inside my hat that it’s a Dalton, but here is the start of the posts on this thread from last August where Fruno and I sorted out that it is a Dalton (read this post and then a few further on the same page):

This comment was lost in the mail until I just now ran across the Dalton thread and realized you were probably referring to Dalton hats. So I circled back around and here you are telling me that very thing. I’ll have to read that thread now!

Here is the inside matter with a reorder tag and the size marker that broke off. Look familiar?

I would love to hear that this is a Dalton. I like this hat a lot - it’s good quality and if I ever found more for sale I would be happy to acquire them.

You can also have a look in the “Going Atomic with Dalton” thread where other “His Excellency” hats are presented:

Same with the label in mine.

With these flamboyant styled fedoras and equally “fabulous” model names I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if you happened upon an old magazine ad calling your Lee GP clone the, “Rainbow Rider”! :)
