You are right about the soda. I'll have to find the links if anyone is interested, but for one glass of soda, it takes almost 18 glasses of water to get it out of your body.

I was a coke-a-day drinker and I cut it out completly or I will just have one on the weekend and my skin looks great, and I lost one inch at the waist.

A month ago I started making little changes to my eating habits and diet to try and get rid of my pesky college weight that decided to take up residence on my figure this past year...

~Drink lots of water/tea
~Eat an apple/peach/cup of veggies, etc. before lunch and dinner to fill me up a bit
~No eating after 7:30/8:00pm
~No more pastries! (my downfall)... ok, I let myself have one on the weekends only, but only if I've been good all week!...

Seems to be taking hold... I'm down 4 pounds already! :)

I've lost 81 pounds on the CORE plan. It is Weight Watcher's newest plan, they have two. I always said if they could mix Atkins with WW it would be perfect for me and that's pretty much it!

All lean meats, all veggies, all fruits, whole wheat pastas, whole grains, skim milk, ff cheese, and a bit more. You are allowed to eat as much as you "need" to feel satisfied of the core list. But you also get 35 points a week to eat whatever you want. Like a small sundae from Dairy Queen is 5 points, average slice of pizza :pizza: is 7 points, a margarita is a whopping 11 points, and so on. I usually spend my points on real cheese or ice cream, whatever. I eat steak, meatloaf, chili, bbq, salads, grilled veggies, ect.

Basically cook from scratch, no sugar, and shop around the outer perimeter of the grocery store. This is the easiest plan I've ever been on, so black and white, and practical for LIFE.

Enjoy buying new clothes Matt! ;) You deserve to brag!

Nikki, Kudos on your WL, & the corset looks awesome, I would love to corset train!!! I wish I had the willpower to have lost the weight without doing the surgery, but to this day, I still have lack of willpower, but now my body punishes me if I eat too much or the wrong thing. TO ALL OF YOU: Loosing naturally is awesome, and I congratulate you all!!!:eusa_clap

All of you have done such a wonderful job.

My secret is simple. Deployment :) My husband's first tour to Iraq I lost 25lbs. Doesn't sound like much but I'm 5'2 and I went from 150 to 125. It didn't hurt that I was diagnosed with PCOS, Hypoglycemia, and insulin resistance. Once they got my insulin under control it was much easier. I inched back up to 130 in the year he was home, but I'm back down to 125 now and I should be down to 120 (my goal weight) before he comes back...maybe. The difference for me really was the sugar. It was amazing the difference it made when I cut the sugar out.

Any way we choose to loose weight is wonderful. Whatever works for each of us is what we should do.
It's choosing to loose it in the first place the most important part, and you took a big risk with the surgery Lovely. I'm sure you were very nervous! I have no will power either, but at least I'm to the point that if I have a binge I know what to do instead of going back to my old habbits.

You mentioned the Oreo shakes... have ya tried the Weight Watcher's oreo ice cream bars? YUMMO. And NO, I usually don't buy WW anything. Just those and their chocolate muffins!

Here is one good story. Someone I know well did weight watchers and lost 50 pounds and didn't have too hard a time. The key was changing just a couple small things in the daily routine. More walks; no olive oil in the salad (believe it or not, that made a difference); more water; almost no beer; keeping track of "points." It worked well and there was only a short adjustment period of, essentially, getting used to not having a full stomach. I know it might not work for everyone, but it worked brilliantly for that person.

Congrats to everyone who's been getting healthy!

I've started really watching what I've been eating (I wouldn't call it a diet, per se), and walking more, occasionally exercising and have lost 4 lbs. I want to get down to 110, what I was in high school. I was getting a little pot belly, and it just wasn't cool with me anymore!

My boyfriend has just recently lost 50 lbs. He's halfway to his goal, and I'm very proud of him. He looks so much healthier and happier, it's wonderful to see him like that.

Lookin' good de lovely! I'm mainly just watching what I eat as long as they are all in "fist" portions. Everything in moderation with regular exercise is the key. I usually do the ellipse machine 3 times a week @ 30 min. each time. So far I haven't gained or lost any weight in the past 5 yrs. so. But then I am not overweight at all. Just right. :)
