Looks great with the jacket and shades!

Thanks, RBH. I remember when I was watching this hat on ebay many years ago, it was described as brown. When I got it, I thought it was closer to battleship gray and was initially disappointed. But I got over that rather quickly. :)

Jimmy, that's a pretty hat. I love brown, the shape, the edging, the wider ribbon(!) Sweet!

I got an e-mail today from the e-bay seller. I should have a Whippet in my hands by Wednesday. It won't be green but it will be a Whippet!

That one's a beauty, Jim.

I started the day wearing the panama I have from the Panama hat shop in St. Augustine. I really don't ever wear it cos it just didn't fit or look right.

Well it went to work with me but went home with my Sgt. I am bringing him a strip of foam tomorrow to tighten it up a hair.lol

That's a cool ribbon, J.T. I'm not sure I've ever seen one that is finished in that way (in terms of how it is joined together).

Cheers,
JtL

You said it, J.T. I love my Featherweight. So comfortable and the color goes with everything. Yours is a step above with that trick ribbon and pin. Nicely done!

 I have to admit, the ribbon didn't come that way. The hat was two sizes smaller than I wear. I removed the ribbon and reblocked the hat. When I went to put the ribbon back on, I discovered it wasn't long enough. I did the best I could, but still wasn't satisfied. The pin was a perfect cover-up.

I wear my one and only hat every single day. It´s a dark gray Panizza President. (I modified it after the pic was taken to make it look more like a traditional fedora so now the brim is flat and not turned up and I just finnished the teardrop crown).

I was out walking today to do a local errand. I had on my ancient Bailey. I like to wear this one when it's precipitating and Im not gonna be in the car because the brim is just so d**n big:

Its interesting. I think Ive said this before but it happened again just now. I wear my fedoras and kids invariably refer to them as a cowboy hat. I just took a walk and I passed a group of kids. And I hear one or more of them go, ‘da, da da daaaaaaaaa, da da daaaa, da; da da daaaaaaaaa, da da da! da! da! . . .’

My fedoras get the cowboy hat comment, and this monstrosity gets an Indy reference. Kids . . .

NICE!! Love this Homburg on you...

looking good UWSCowboy!! With having some vintage hats, are you going to be looking for vintage garb to wear with them?? Or do you already dress vintage? Vintage clothes would look great on you!!

A green-ish Dobbs Homburg. Going to straighten out the ribbon now. Looks brownish with flash.

Thanks! I don't actually have any vintage clothes, but I do all my shopping at thrift stores and mostly wear flannel shirts with jean jackets, leather jackets, boots and what not.

I was thinkin' sort of a wizard thing going on there.

A crazy, but impressive, hat there Scotty. You've got stones, man.

Oh, and I too have had little kids innocently ask me, "Are you a cowboy?", when I've been wearing a fedora. Cute.

Great old Bailey. You wouldn't get a second look in Cheyenne, or rude comments, either.

For SlimPortly... to cheer you!!

:eek:fftopic: I'm sending these to you via the magic of computers from myself & all of your friends here at FL:

Wishing you a speedy recovery... hope you are not allergic to roses my dear!

The pink rose is called Flower Girl but we call it the Amazon! Its in a raised bed up at the front of the house. The huge (pic taken in late April 2007 when it was at least 10' high x 12' wide) white rose Sally Holmes is along one side fence next to the back patio. In No. Calif we are spoiled for growing roses- we have over 125 antique and modern roses here.
