Hello again,
I was in Bangkok for two months untill last week. It supposed to be a winter time, but the weather was averaging above 30 degree during the day. Somehow I don't think I can manage a fedora back there. A panama seems a much better option to me, and good for me that I brought along...
Hi ghostdog,
I'm not sure I should be counted as one. I was born in Bangkok; however, I have been living in Australia for the past ten years. When I started having interest in hats, I had easy access to a few hat shops around the town and the well known the hattery (hatsdirect.com) if I drive...
I have seen a sand colour (or something really light) Akubra swing at the Strand Hatters. It's a nice looking hat particularly in that colour. Give it a try.
Lawman, it's great to hear that you are joining the grey Federation club. Mine has become really soft now, just over the past few months.
I have two Campdraft, one in silver belly, one in black. They are both great.
Cheers, Chanop
Thank you again every one for the comments. I once said that I was going to look for a picture of Fred Astaire wearing a porkpie. I think I have one but never got around to scan it. However, Will of A Suitable Wardrobe, who is also Art's customer, recenty posted a picture of Fred wearing a...
Anthony and others,
Please count me in. I have much interest in trying to get a nice dark blue or navy fedora (The federation would be nice). Any way, this weekend, I will be having my four-days' vacation in Blue mountain. So I hope to cath up with Ron sometime.
Cheers, Chanop.
Thank you for your good words J.T. The Fedora turned porkpie seems is still working well for me. I have been wearing it regularly along with the Fedorations.
As it is at the moment, it is fairly similar to the Akubra rap/Akubra jazz, with the main difference being an unbound 2.5" brim as oppose...
How about this boy?
Colourwise, it is fairly correct. May be a bit of a tint here and there as you
can see that the background wall is not quite white.
It just happen that I have this one with me today; however, I don't have enough time to take proper photos of it. Will do that and post...
Very handsome, Atomic Glee, the hat, the suit and the man. Would you call your suit the 30's style? I remember seeing something similar in form over at the 30's style.
I will make my appliation for The Brotherhood of the Thin Ribbon one day.
That's very cute, sir.
My newphew is ten months old now. The next time I see him he'll be aroun fourteen months, let's see how he'll be doing with hats.
It's winter at the moment on this part of the world where Akubra hats are made, so I have been wearing my Federations (and others) with a coat. sweater, and long sleeve shirt almost daily. But on a more casual days, something like the following seems to work for me:
As for the size...
Clean up some black marks
Gentlemen, how would you recommend cleaning up some small black marks, probably from handling, on the panama? Would some soapy water and toothbrush be enough for this?
Gracias, Chanop
