I know the Velvet Underground have nothing to do with the general subject matter of the Lounge, but this is a great story. An acetate of Andy Warhol's first mix of the first Velvet Underground album surfaced in 2002 and was bought for a mere 75 cents in a New York yard sale. It's very different from the released album and, as far as is known, is the only source left of these recordings. It's currently up on eBay, has 3 days and some hours to go, and has, so far, attracted 170 bids with a high bid of $124,740.50.
I don't know if the Lounge restriction on live eBay auctions applies to this, but on the assumption that it does just search eBay for "Velvet Underground & Nico" and it should be top of the list. The listing includes an article from the current Goldmine magazine with the full story.
