Here are a few pictures of famous people in G-1s. Please feel free to post others.
Jimmy Stewart in the 1948 film You Gotta Stay Happy wearing his Wartime Rough Wear 1401-P.
David Niven wearing an original Irvin Flying jacket in the 1946 film A Matter of Life and Death.
JFK on his yacht:
Johnny Knoxville sporting a vintage G-1 or M422a:
McQueen as "Papa" Thorson:
I like the McQueen photo, well I like all the pics posted so far actually. I have read that Kevin Costner is a big fan of flight jackets and that is why he wears them in several of his movies.
Howard Hughes (of course)
Field of Dreams
John Lennon (on his last day alive!) December 8, 1980
Check out the Howard Hughes jacket: Essentially a B2 with handwarmer pockets!
And such an excellent fit!
There can't be many examples of movie stars wearing their own clothes in movies. Excellent stuff!
Harrison Ford and Frank Sinatra:
Me.... I mean 'Jake Cutter'.... I mean the guy that played Jake Cutter, Stephen Collins:
A good view of Jimmy in his Roughwear ≈
Joan Fontaine (from the film You Gotta Stay Happy, as well) ≈
Looks brand new
Here's a few of Spencer Tracy in "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo"
imposing image of MacArthur.
Dirk Bogarde with a 'Luftwaffe style' jacket in the movie Despair
Another great image of Flynn
And I know it's not strictly a flight jacket, but here is Dirk Bogarde in Hunted in a nice leather jacket that resembles a Lewis lumber jacket. In fact, it is almost identical.
Tracy Morgan and Harrison Ford ≈
