Overall looks good - maybe a little tight in the chest.

Btw the face in the last pic is the stuff of nightmares.

Fit check on this Simmons Bilt. It's a 38, though I generally wear a 40. Got a great deal on it, basically unworn. Half belt in appaloosa brown horsehide, made by Moira.

Thought I’d give a used no-name shearling a try to see if I like the style but I fear this Size S is rather too big even with the sleeves turned up (even accepting that shoulder seams beyond the shoulder are sometimes ok!). Am I correct?

Looks pretty much spot on. Remember that it's a repro of a shirt made for tucking in.

Thought I’d give a used no-name shearling a try to see if I like the style but I fear this Size S is rather too big even with the sleeves turned up (even accepting that shoulder seams beyond the shoulder are sometimes ok!). Am I correct?

I think it's fine. Bear in mind that it's a fur coat. Under TFL influence I got a shearling jacket modified to taper and deeply regret it.

Looks like you are swimming in that jacket. Seems like there's adjustments for the waist, perhaps fastening them would make it functional as my fear with that size would be going out in the cold and having wind coming up through the oversized waist. Edit: This is to @unhatted, above post entered while writing this one.

It looks new out of the package there; all shirts will shrink with washing. (It's why Turnbull & Asser makes its shirts a half-inch bigger than tagged.)

I would say that it is too big. The caveats are that a work shirt is supposed to be more roomy and that it "might" shrink with washing. The latter is a bit of a risk because it will make the shirt non-returnable.

The final caveat is that clothing fit is highly personal. If you feel it is too big return it and get the smaller size.

You're saying this as though it is physically too big in its current state, which it's not.

The fit as it stands isn't wrong. I'm simply pointing out that it'll shrink further.

These no-brand sheepskins almost always have the worst cuts imaginable and aren't really indicative of how a well made shearling jacket should fit. It's too big, yeah but even if it was smaller, it wouldn't have fit you much better.

I think it’s at least a size too large and from the first photo it looks like you may already be layering the jacket with a sweater.
Sheepskin or shearling jackets can be a more relaxed fit but even so that one does seem to be very loose on you.

Whereas my Spiewak N3B sleeves are a little long but then I'm only 5-7
