I think that is the perfect length for you, it covers the belt all around. Any longer and it will be covering up the front and back pockets
The length of the jacket fits well, there is no need to change anything. The jacket fits snugly at the waist. The jacket is new, not worn out, you need to walk around in it for a while. After that, you can draw a conclusion.I am 6'1 with a 48 chest. This is a picture of me with an Eastman G1 in size 48. Do I need to lose a few pounds around the waist to make this fit better? Thinking of asking for it to be lengthened by an inch too. Shoulders, chest and sleeves are fine, with plenty of movement. Any advice, even "get on a treadmill chubby" is greatly appreciated.

Could you share new pictures then?Thank you all. Since that picture I have lost over a stone. For my health mainly but using the jacket as motivation.
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. Size 36 looks good, but it's too tight at the waist. Therefore, a size 38 jacket will be more suitable for you.Fit check please.
I’ve been wondering ever since I got my Schott 641HH in size 38, whether or not a 36 would be a better fit. I recently got a 36, so here’s how they fit.
I have a few side by side pics of me wearing Schott 641HH in sizes 36 and 38, with a t-shirt and thermal-type long sleeve shirt underneath.
Which looks to be a better fit?
Thanks.

You can pull off both but I prefer the 38. You did a good job of breaking it in as well - lots of character!Fit check please.

The 38 is better. The look of the leather alone. And I think it also looks a bit more comfortable.Fit check please.

I aim to get there again next week sometime to revise the fitting situation.Could you share new pictures then?
Looking at the ones you've posted, I would had said that's your best size without going custom, as I think the shoulders, length and sleeves are the right size but the body could use a bigger size (Edit: Maybe not? The back picture doesn't look as tight as it looks in the front). If you've lost weight and keep doing it, it can become a perfect fit but also potentially end up being too big
It definitely looks cool open.I have had this Vanson Ike for a few years and have never worn it. Thoughts on the fit and if the jacket is a flattering cut on me? Looking at my pictures I definitely prefer it open to zipped. View attachment 688999 View attachment 689000 View attachment 689001 View attachment 689002

Nice trucker, the fit is great.Hey guys, I have recently sold an M filson jacket I found too large for my liking and replaced it with a brand new size small I managed to grab.
im sharing my experiences because not being able to try one it took some trial and error.
first of all filson enthusiasts seem to have different standards when it comes to fit. They seem to be the type of people who like to wear oversized pieces so I first followed their statments That this model short cruiser runs small by opposed to some other models of the brand.
being 5.10, 165lbs, with a not so wide chest 38 inch and not so broad shoulders 45cm, the M with a 45inch chest was too roomy and didn’t like the drapes it made : few photos there https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/filson-roughout-fit-check.116696/
the sleeves where also too long, it made only sense when I layer a lot but it’s more a piece I intend to wear surin mid season. I’ve already got a schott b3 for winters, or other wool jackets.
so I pulled the trigger and bought a s without trying. At some point I was considering mine tailored but chickened out that I wouldn’t be done right, it was a lot of tailoring To be done.
so here is my new filson worn above a heavy flannel shirt From iron heart.
i can closed it easily and while it’s stiffer than the M one, it feels there is more room for a mid weight hoody.
its more fitted, shorter, I feel true to what a trucker jacket is like.
allow me to share a few pics.
oh and I forgot the chest is 21 inch and a quarter. So on the paper it leaves 42.5 minus 38 = 4.5 inch of room to layer a bit. what do you think of the fit?
donno if this helps anyone. Cheers
