I own a number of Aero jackets, but the ones I purchased from Insurrection are by far my favorites! Their selection and service is top-notch, and I highly recommend giving Wade, Carrie or Sally a call about this fresh stock... I'll have to make a visit soon to see it for myself!

I see, so Insurrection is probably a better place to buy an aero from than direct from the factory is. That's good to know, thanks man!

Schitzo, since you're in London it might be worth having a chat to Giles at Ironheart. I don't know if he's any more knowledgeable than the guys at Insurrection (probably not, as Wade strikes me as much more of an obsessive :D), but there seems to be a certain amount of experimentation going on there. (Ventile linings, for example.)

+1 for Giles, he knows his stuff and works with Will @ Aero a lot. You won't find a nicer guy to deal with on this side of the pond.

Schitzo, if you go through Insurrection you'll end up paying a 20% premium since you'll get slugged with VAT when the jacket comes back into the UK. Also, if you need to send it back for any reason the postage will be expensive. Nothing against Insurrection, but doesn't seem practical...

If you're in Europe, probably going through Aero or a European retailer is your best bet. However, if you're in the States, Insurrection is where it's at...the selection is amazing and I love what they do to make the Aero Cafe' Racer work so well, both from a functional and aesthetic standpoint.

I was at Backfire Moto, a local cafe' racer and custom bike gathering in Seattle (the historic Ballard district) last week and it looked like Insurrection had outfitted the entire scene. It was like the set from a late 1960s / early 1970s movie. Great bikes AND great gear!

Why sort of back do the cafe racers get for Insurrection, is it the shoulder-only biswing? What other changes do they get from the 'standard' Aero CR?

Yep...shoulder-only biswing, which seems to tighten up the jacket a lot! I know there's added length both to the body and arms, but I don't know how much. It's based on their favorite vintage pieces. Give 'em a call and they'll hook you up.

..oh, wait... just saw you were in the UK... nevermind...good information though for other Fedora Loungers...

I just wanted to let everyone know that ALL our current Aero, Vanson, Schott, and Pacific Cycle Leathers jackets are up on our website with the current stock available on drop-down, buy-now buttons. We've sold a lot of Aero these past two days, but there's still some great selections left.

Regarding the Aero jackets for sale on the site, we've labeled all 26" length (measured from the neck seam, down the back, to the bottom hem) as L and we've labeled all 27" length jackets as LL...

Concerning the Vanson PLU-2s, these jackets measure 26" in length.

The Schott CAF-1s are a great length at 27.5" and have the most amazing steerhide I've EVER laid my hands on!!! These jackets are way better than last year's horsehide batches and are a steal at our current sale price.

The Pacific Cycle Leathers are beautiful jackets, with jacket lengths of 26" for the two-pocket jacket and 27" for the four-pocket jacket. Many of our customers choose these jackets over Aero, Vanson, and Schott, but this might be, in large part, due to the price being irresistible!

Check out the current crop of jackets at http://www.insurrectionvintage.com/online-shopping-new-jackets.html If you see your size here, it's available and will be at your doorstep within three working days if you live in the United States. We also ship International Priority and, if you purchase a jacket from us, the jacket will be to you in seven to ten working days!

Have a wonderful Sunday guys!!!

Oh, yeah, girls, check out the women's Pacific Cycle Leathers jacket near the bottom of the page. The only women's jacket that we've EVER been able to sell better than these are the original Brimaco '60s and '70s women's jackets. However, the women's originals are a VERY difficult find these days and don't have quite the fit and leather quality (our leather is way, way nicer than what Brimaco used back in the day!) that ours do...

The only Schott CAF-1 jackets listed are the horsehides for $750. The steerhides are not mentioned. How much are they?

We need to go in and change that. To clarify, it's the 2012 steerhide CAF-1s are on special for $750.00 :eusa_clap

EDIT: It should be fixed now...if there are other problems, please make us aware...we've been doing some site updates...

Just purchased a Pacific Cycle Leathers jacket from Insurrection and it's amazing! Leather is SO much nicer than original Brimaco jackets, which I've always found to be quite flimsy.(that being said I still own one;)...) The fit is spot on and the price for the quality is amazing. I've owned and sold multiple Vansons, Schotts and one Aero along with a host of vintage Brooks, Lang Horne etc...I have to say none of them felt as comfortable on my bike, which has an extreme reach to the bars, as the Pacific Cycle does...Very, very pleased with it. I've also purchased a Pegasus cafe racer that I'm hoping to get before months end! I'll gladly post my review of that jacket as well if anyone is interested.

Agree with everything here! Best bang for the buck on the market, and a year's warranty, just like Vanson!

Hey Mojo!

I'm about to give in on one of these Pacific Cycles cafe racer jackets. Can you provide some info on the jacket? What is the weight of the hide? What type of leather is it? Are they made in house? What are they lined with?

Thanks

I own one. It's 3 oz cowhide. Quite stiff - good quality. Weighs 5 pounds. Lining is a bit of a let down. Mine is a thin cotton and the pockets are the same thin cotton. I would have preferred a thicker lining material as Schott uses, for instance. Overall they are a nice jacket. I have a size 42 if you want it - I am in the process of getting a half-belt and need the cash. $300 it's yours.

Cheers
