I didnt get many of my patterns back, which is no big loss considering I only put up patterns I was willing to loose ( had made copies and they were not in my size anyway). I also only got one I asked for, and sent it back

Anyone got/.know where I can get Simplicity 4559? I found it in America on Ebay but can't find it now. I would rather get it from the UK as it would be cheaper. This is driving me crazy!!!

Hi! You can find it on the Simplicity site for $11.95 plus shipping. It's in their Out Of Print Section.

I've been scouring the web for it myself and that's the best price I've been able to find!

The back of the pattern says Bust 34, Waist 26.5, Hip 36.

Mine made up bigger though. Well, it fits me & my hips & waist are bigger than that [huh]

(This was the first thing I ever made. I didn't know seam allowances were included. And of course the shirt was ENORMOUS when it was done:eusa_doh: )

All these patterns have all pieces and instructions. The envelope for the Marian Martin shirts is really tattered but everything else is in pretty fantastic condition.

OK, I did some scanning of my 30s and one 20s... If anyone would like to borrow, here is how I would like to do it:
1. I will make a copy on thick paper of the actual pieces, with markings, and a copy of the packaging and instructions too. This will force me to cut my muslin at the same time (but please give me a couple of weeks after requesting to get it to you)! I will probably sell each of these on Ebay to recoup my time costs later. So if you really, really want the real one, let me know, we can talk.
2. First come, first serve. PM me if you want one of these, and please include your name, address, phone number and real email. I will respond and give you my contact info too.
3. I would suggest only keeping a pattern for two weeks to allow others to get them too, but if you have extenuating circumstances let me know.
So! Here we go...

#4401, Early 30s dress and jacket pattern with contrasting yoke and lapels/cuffs. 46 bust.

#3463, Late 20s/early 30s pajamas with Russian closing blouse, 42 bust.

#5235, Late 20s dress and jacket "Larger Hip Pattern", 45 bust.

4315, Mid to late 20s dress with skirt ruffle, 36 bust.

#828, Early 30s afternoon dress with lace revers, 48 bust.

#4728, Mid 30s dress with asymmetrical neckline, bust 48.

#3512, Early 30s dress with collar and deco hip seams, bust 46.

I have many, many more but can't commit to more copying than this right away!

I will also try to scan some 50s patterns which will be giveaways, soon,. I don't have a scanner right now so have to do them at work, and the scanner there is tedious.

I really love your 30's patterns. They are beautiful and I would love to have a copy of at least one if possible. PM when you get a chance.

But a heck of a lot cheaper than having Theresa LaQuey make clothes for you... although she's worth it!

And yes, Lady Day, I owe you patterns... soon.... my life went wild for a few weeks around the Queen Mary/Gatsby/new job areas... I plan to be sewing again and will be cutting out that dress so I can send on the original! Although these 46 to 48s are going to be a bit hard as I am now a 42... and still shrinking!

Wow, Dollydaydream, do you reckon I could get a copy of the 1939 Simplicity 3398 and the Butterick 4790???

There are several different times set for copyright, ranging from 25 years to 100 years. I think the one that applies to this is 76 years after the death of the copyright holder. (Strange number of years, isn't it?)

That's not to say that another copy shop wouldn't do it for you..... but at FXK, we're really held accountable to that policy. (Just got a memo reminding me about it last week....)

Kind of late in the topic on this one, but I was thinking about this today as I see many people selling vintage reproduction clothing made from vintage patterns on Etsy and I myself have thought of getting into this. Do you know how I would look up copyrights to find out which patterns I can and can't do this with?
