Lady Day: I love this style of jacket! I bought a pattern on Ebay in a similar style last year, and have yet to make it (dratted Florida weather... lol!). The corduroy was such a classic choice (even if it wasn't the best--I still think it looks great); I always adore the surface texture of that material!

I'm not satisfied with the collar/yoke/vestee area. I might change them to the flamingo pink so it stands out more. Kinda gets lost in all that crazy pattern! :D

Thanks, chicas!

Last night a changed the collar and hip pocket on my flamingo dress to pink. It breaks it up more and looks less severe! Just need to buy a matching pink belt and I'm ready to wear it (yes, I will actually wear it in public.)

Amy Jeane, that green 30s number is great.

I made jimjams! Now that summer is here, Im lounging a lot more in light cotton things. I based these off my apparently favorite 30s pattern. I also put the pleat in the back, and echoed the yolk in the pockets.

Its not my BEST sewing quality, I just wanted to finish. The fabric was one of those cotton panels Urban Outfitters sells. Ive had it for years, but I ripped some small holes in it, and had been avoiding using it for anything. This was one of my last large pieces of fabric. Now I dont know what Im gonna do! ;)

The bottoms are long, out of the same fabric, cuffed about 1 3/4" and drawstring.

Its a cute set, and will be nice on cooler summer nights.

Honestly ladies, I am in awe of your abilities behind the needle!
This is my first attempt at a simple circle skirt from a vintage 50's pattern. All in all, I give myself a low mark. The seams are okay, and I managed to get the zipper placed in a decent fashion after two tries and one broken zipperfoot, but my pleats and hemline need a lot of practice. Oh well, a petticoat and retina burning color hide a multitude of sins.

Tonight, I'll begin the "walkaway" dress. Wish me luck. :)

For first attempt, I think you nailed it. The skirt is adorable, and I love that rich hue. I am about to start sewing myself, and I pray that most first attempt is as successful as yours. ;)

Well, I think this is my last attempt at WWII fashion. The dress is cute, but it does nothing for my figure. It looks better with a red cardi, but that means it can only be worn in Early Spring and mid-Fall.
