lol..... I also picked up a custom made leather campaign style hatband, a Tatton Baird tshirt, and ordered a custom ($40) round horsehair brush and got to pick the handle wood grain and color, Covi makes them by hand and she'll mail it with my hat. I forgot to get a photo before I left. :(

  2. I asked about the brushes & she told me $45.00 but she may have been including shipping. I didn't buy one.

She gave me a bit of discount since I bought the hat and other stuff. Yeah, a bit pricey but I've never seen another quite like if and she puts them together right there in the shop.

  4. I figured as much & without a hat order from me she had to cover her shipping charge.

I was just scrolling back through these posts an idea hit me pretty hard. If hatters are turning down work as a pattern, not just a rare one here or there, and if other hatters are having larger backlogs, that's pretty strong evidence that there truly is an upsurge in the wearing of men's hat.

Or fewer people making hats. Is it the supply or the demand side?

Or the same hat wearers just upgrading to custom fur felt hats instead of mass produced hats made of paper, toyo, shantung, wool, cotton, etc.

Thanks Bowen! Yes, I have lost 45 pounds through all this. Aside from being in too much pain to eat, my new medication +(trulicity) has killed my apatite as well. My black hats are getting a workout down at our community theater. I'm Stage Managing Mama Mia. My cast wont let me do much, but I have a great crew.

You wear it well, Steve (of course you do). Unique style this Resolut and it walks the fine line between homburg and a more western style. Can't beat that colour scheme of course.

Very cool hat, John and I think your best effort so far. I think Bob will approve, as he will of the name Banned Bob. It has sort of an outlaw ring to it, which suits him I think. Get the women and children to safety: Banned Bob is coming to town!
He is missed and really should be back here.

Just when I thought I had seen them all, you manage to come up with another one. Impressive hat, Eric. Quite the crown on that one. Excellent casual outfit by the way.
