Merry Christmas, FL family. I am still under the weather with post-surgery nausea and headaches. None of the painkillers they give me to use help any better than OTC Tylenol and the Rx stuff makes me feel more nauseas...

But that's why we had the kids over on the 14th-15th. So I haven't been wearing hats except for a few minutes around the house now and then.

I woke up at 3am with a brutal headache; right temple running to the back of my head and down behind my ear. It didn't subside until this afternoon.

Dang Doug ... I feel your pain (literally -- I get migraines from time to time that can last up to four days. Well, there was the 53-day one, but I'd rather not remember it.) Hopefully this is a short term effect of the surgery and you can get past it soon. Thoughts, prayers, well-wishes, drugs ... what ever it takes. I hope you find some peace before and throughout the New Year. Looking forward to seeing you hatted again soon!

Thanks Stefan. In the past I've only worn one to a couple of post Civil War Victorian events historical/research groups to which I belong to have had. And of course, Saint Patrick's Day. Since a new Celtic bar recently opened nearby & going to O'Malley's 1842 Irish tavern I've become more comfortable in wearing one. Plus I acquired this Keith Bros which is a fine hat.

The baron hats dark moss bowler got worn today, although I don’t think I took one step outside. The girlfriend arrived at 2am, after a five hour delay, but she arrived safely and that’s all I could have hoped for.
