Smoking! Very nice Tim. I'm glad to see you wearing it. Hats like that don't deserve to be in storage.

Wearing the '41 Strat to the Polls today. This was only my second Vintage Hat, and still probably my favorite. I set the bar high early on for my Vintage Hat Collecting with this one. Mint condition, original TWA box, original TWA hat pin, and even a date stamp on the sweat.....

On my office wall is a cartoon of a big fat businessman, chomping a Churchillian cigar, descending the steps of hell, carrying a huge wicker basket, stuffed full of money. The devil is saying, "Congratulations, you are the first ever to bring it with you. Now what are you going to do with it?"

Have you ever been in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. My wife likes me to ask before posting a photo of her. On the "How do folks react," thread I put up this photo of us at a wedding last Saturday, along with a number of favourable reactions and compliments that we received.

Tina, my missus, only saw the photo today, although she had said that she was ok with me posting it. "You can't see the intricate hat detail," she whinged, when seeing the picture for the first time. I reminded her that I seek approval before posting and that's why I only put up one photo. So to keep the peace here's the hat detail, and in the background you can see Fiona, the milliner. We collected the hat from her house, she was still recovering from surgery and not able to open her shop for a while. Just in case of a further potential potential domestic, the other photos are of the matching feather that went in my hat ribbon. For the link to our day at the wedding click here.

Fantastic as always, Robert. The matching feathers are a great little touch.

Good morning. This morning has been a Bantam morning at my house.

On Saturday, April 7, 1934, a U.S. federal trademark registration was filed for THE STETSON BANTAM. The USPTO gave the THE STETSON BANTAM trademark serial number of 71349693.

For an early morning dog soiree I wore a light grey/blue unlined very early 30-40's Stetson Bantam. A warm Mackinaw was needed to fend off the cold breeze.

Returning home my dog and I headed out to pick up some freshly roasted coffee. A gray Stetson Bantam was my themed choice for the trip. The barista said she liked my gray hat and was intrigued by the crown vents. After viewing she put it the Bantam on and darn if she did not look great in the hat. I provided some locations to search for her own hat.

I like the Stetson Bantam fedoras style and not for the Bantam's illustrative dictionary definitional of a person of diminutive stature and often combative disposition. I AM NOT!

Best, Eric -
Excellent Eric.
I could not agree more.
Bantam is a favored profile hat for me as well.
I just wish i had one with the Bantam button...and vents...and blue...and...
Well, more IS better with a Bantam!

Fabulous hats, all three of them, Eric. Impossible to choose between them (but then, I don't have to).

Exclusive Hats of Chicago on a non-exclusive head.

I thought all heads were exclusive?! Nice hat, Jim.

Very nice, Héctor. I don't think I've seen a Champ in that colour often.
Warm and muggy again today, gonna be an early straw season methinks. Heading to the chiropractor in a Bullet proof Akubra. View attachment 217563 View attachment 217565 View attachment 217567 View attachment 217568
Warm and muggy is not the label I'd put on the weather over here (did get a glimpse of the sun though after what seemed like months). Good to see the straw is out already, Ken. Good luck at the chiropractor.

Thanks Stephen, not to worry, it'll be a snap. ;)
