Early morning dog soirée wearing a vintage Stetson Whippet. I appreciated the wide brim in that it kept more mosquitoes away from my face. I was envious that my dog wore his protective fur coat as they did not bother him.

Home again I am enjoying a cup of the hard to find Costa Rican single blend coffee. Best Dressed Head cap and I are smiling and smiling and smelling the roses.

Yes the dogs do have a bit of an advantage on the mosquitoes. Though they will come for our dog’s bellies. Beautiful Whippet

Pick-up at tailors this morning found me wearing PPC and a "Genuine Monicristi Panama" from the Newt.

Home and my current chore is to spread 70 sq ft. of mulch. Off to work I go.

Each hand woven Panama goes through a lot of fine tuning to play its music... the weaver's skill harmonizing with a hatter's blocking. A lot of opportunities for wrong notes. A fine montecristi is truly a thing of beauty. It is also quite heavy and dense - perhaps not the most comfortable choice for a hot, humid day. Here is one sold under the Cavanagh brand, 11 vueltas, nicely woven and handsomely finished as you would expect from this premier brand. A happy solstice to all my hat friends!

Once upon a time my daily dilemma was to decide which hat to take to which beach. Then work, health issues, pandemic, unemployment...things changed. Now my dilemma is to decide which cap to take to which beach.
We had the first Covid-19 case on the island in 10 weeks yesterday, Inter-island travel is allowed, bars, restaurants, most everything is open, yet still no one on the beach in Hanelai yesterday. I'm not complaining.
I am growing to like this Hanna Hats Vintage Cap Patchwork Linen more and more.
