50s “Butternut” Strat.
One that I took completely apart this week for a reblock, reflange and rebuild, but able to resew on all the original components.
It’s been re-Strated.
A world of difference in the shape and profile, which is mostly what I was after. Lots of work, but I’m very happy with the results.
2 3/4 brim, 5 5/8 open crown. Fits comfortably. Worth all the trouble.

I’d say buy a lottery ticket, but you might have already used all your allotted luck. Great hats!
Thanks, Brent.
Lucky that day, for sure!!
But yesterday I lost a beautifully colored 7 3/8 50s wide brim MacLacklen in excellent condition by stepping outside for only a moment. I had asked the seller, who had it listed auction style with a $45 starting bid, to list it at a BIN for $120 and told her I’d buy. Had to do something that took only a moment, came back inside to check and it was sold to some other lucky lottery winner!!!
This lucky dude has me to thank for his rare fedora and don’t even know!

Eric, a woolen cap as it has always been since childhood, even if the winters have changed a lot in the last twenty years. Much more lovable, indeed, than autumns that last until spring. When the days are cold, very few in recent years, and I walk to the office early in the morning I have caps other than hats. The hats are for half the day when it warms up.
I will show the "mutation"

Oh boy do I empathize sir. Our Fall-winter cool temps find me eschewing hats for the warmth of caps most evenings. Sunny winter days my hats can be surprisingly warm. Or at least I think they are. Cheers, Eric -
