That Biltmore looks perfect on a wintery day

That’s the right hat for your weather, Reggie. I really like the longer hair finishes, and Biltmore made some great ones.

Thanks, guys. Yeah, It is warm. I was wearing it while shoveling snow and had to take it off a couple of times because I started sweating. LOL!

On the 7th Day of StingyMas...

1950s Stetson 3X Beaver Quality - Steel Grey
6 inch open crown - rakish 5 to 4 inch as shaped
1 7/8 Black Grosgrain Ribbon with Boxcar Bow treatment.
2 1/8 brim with 1/8 accented bound edge

The 2 1/8 brim on this 1950s Stetson 3X Beaver Quality may be stingy... but the crown at about 6 inches open certainly is not! With these proportions the crown was looking a bit stovepipe like. It seems whenever I pick this one up I’m working the crown wider and down a bit. It has a cool boxcar bow ribbon treatment. The steel grey felt has some blue tones to it and is a similar feel to my same period whippet.

Sorry for being slow, but you didn't buy that in Amazon, did you?
It's a new modern hat. Bought it on Amazon Prime, the vendor is DelMonico Hatter. It is always hit or miss what hats are available at a given time (especially when I have built up enough points to get one) but no vintage hats that I have ever seen. There are some new Borsalinos and other makes availble if you search for them.

That has a lot of interesting, contradictory complementary features to it, Joe. Short brim contra high crown, box car type back bow bow, the blue in the grey and the grey in the blue. Not to mention the contrasting brim binding, which highlights the whole ensemble. A lot of thought has gone into the design of that Stetson.
A great addition to StingyMas.
