I modified my new Stetson twenty five into a soft cattleman and tweaked the brim a little. It doesn’t say open road on it, but appears to be the right block and dimensions. Either way, great hat, despite being able to still see the former crease marks a bit.
Thanks Daniele. I was particularly admiring the combo of Fleur's refurb, the scarf and coat your are showing today. Very nice all. Thanks Steve. I'm feeling vaguely better and the weather is thinking about starting to warm up. Ha ha. The color is Whisky, if you are in the market for one. Thanks Alan. One of these days I'll have to try it open crown. Thanks all, Michael
Afternoon drop off of the tawny Matt Deckard Stetsonian... The color difference from differing lighting isn't as visually impactful as the difference in brim configuration. Brim up for Bob!! All the BEST to everyone!
It's a unbelievable light felt. I like it but there's something with the back of the brim... You probably will find one in better condition. If you recall this hat had moths around it.
A cold front with heavy rain and flash flood warnings has me in full winter gear today with this light weight 50s Borsalino.
Thanks Dave. I haven't been keeping up with the thread for a few days, so how's the snow out there? Michael
50° and rain yesterday. 28° and high wind today. 8" of snow tomorrow. Typical coastal New England. If you don't like the weather today, just wait for tomorrow lol.
Mac Lachlan Beaver 15 - Light Silver 5 inch center dent crown - 5 1/2 Open 2 7/8 brim with Cavanagh edge 2 inch Black grosgrain ribbon Wind Trolley It is not hard to see past the moderate mothing on this Mac Lachlan Beaver 15 to see that is was one BEAUTIFUL hat... and really still is. The hand of the felt feels fantastic and it shapes with ease. The brim is a full 2 7/8 with a gorgeous Cavanagh edge. The look and feel of this hat make it hard for me to fathom what the quality would be like on their Fifty Silver Beaver or Max’s grail Golden Beaver 100. Aside from the moth nibbles... none of which go all the way through the felt. It just needed a good brushing that released a good half century or more of dust.. and it really sprung to life. The beautiful brown sweat features the iconic Mac Lachlan Air-Vac Cooling and Cushion system.
One of the nicest 7X CBs I’ve ever seen. I really personally prefer this style over the Open Roads. You wear it well too, Ross.
