What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Very nice. Love those Worlds Finest. What exactly is a “controlled edge” appears in the photos like a rolled overwelt with blind stitching making a sorta Cavanagh edge effect

From what I've been able to glean, it's an overwelt with a rubber tube encapulated into the overwelt, to give it more structure.

Here is the listing for when I scored the hat: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/going-atomic-with-dalton.57089/page-7#post-2729969

There's a link in there to the patent.

Such a classy hat for a classy look. Great looking sweat logos.

I wore an un-lined Bon Vivant fedora this morning.

If you are a fan of the Stetson Playboy, check out the Playboys on Parade thread, https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/playboys-on-parade.9386/page-30#post-2854150 . The pic below should give you an idea of the post contents.

That edge treatment is the coolest! Love your Daltons.

Got this Knox from an online auction without high hopes. Love it! Great shape and fits like a dream. Can anyone help me date it from the pics? My guess mid 60's?
Mid to early 60s probably. They were still making nice hats at this time. This one is a classic look. Embrace the Stingy!

Dobbs Cross Country next to the
Elevated. Hard to tell but it is a beautiful sage green and was originally purchased in Patsy Cline’s hometown of Winchester Va.
Hope the weather is as nice wherever you are.

That is a great looking old Dobbs.

Wow, such a great looking old Stetson.

Two hat day today. First, ca. late 60s Borsalino with a beautiful heather felt for a trip around town. Then, my 1920s Stetson Bowler while pottering about the garden.
As can be seen, the weather was as lovely here as it was View attachment 367653 View attachment 367654 in @Mighty44's neck of the woods.
Have a great weekend, folks!
Nothing more pretty than Borsalino's heather finishes. That old Stetson Derby is in fine shape. Very nice.

This is the grand pappy to my Excellent Sage modern Strat. It is an interesting comparison. It would be cool to have both felts side by side to see the evolution.

Interesting. I have a Mallory and that Lee from yesterday that try to get a similar effect with a rolled underwelt that creates that smooth ridge on the top. I always theorized they wrapped around a thin strip of felt to get the effect. A piece of rubber would work similar.

Pardon my un intentional aggressive-stare eyes...

Just put a new sweatband in this 7xCB. I didn't even have time to tack the 2ply band, but was so pleased with the 5min crease I got this morning that I had to wear it. More details to come when the hat is finished finished. It's older than I thought, the sweatband I removed was stamped "RENSH," which thanks to the Lounge I know means renovated by Shudde Bros. No other original tags, so unfortunately no way to solve the age question. Gotta tack the ribbon and sew a liner still.
