Beautiful hat, Joe. The crown seems to go on forever on that one.
Pardon my un intentional aggressive-stare eyes...

Just put a new sweatband in this 7xCB. I didn't even have time to tack the 2ply band, but was so pleased with the 5min crease I got this morning that I had to wear it. More details to come when the hat is finished finished. It's older than I thought, the sweatband I removed was stamped "RENSH," which thanks to the Lounge I know means renovated by Shudde Bros. No other original tags, so unfortunately no way to solve the age question. Gotta tack the ribbon and sew a liner still.

Gorgeous hat. Nice work, Jared.

More good weather. The Akubra looks good, Steve. I have to admit though it's a brand I can't seem to get into.

Lawn cutting, leaf removal, bird feeder refill and tomato plant clean-up done in Palm Leaf hats. A bigger 3" brim for yard work. I sweated that hat thoroughly and rinsed it and put it on a fence post to dry. I wore the second, 2.5" brim (1st column 2nd and 3rd pic from top), for the garden efforts. It is rinsed and drying on an adjacent fence post.

Lunch of Seafood pho soup and Duc Tien (Seafood fried rice). I fried the rice on wood coals outside while wearing an Adam Pacesetter (brown w/gilled ribbon treatment).

I am in the lake and working on lossening the dock piers in order to bring the dock ashore and store the metal framing. I have been enjoying a vintage Stetson Medalist Hemptsted.

I am enjoying a hatted Saturday.

Cheers, Eric -
As always the parade of hats is a joy to see, Eric. My eye got stuck on the velour this time; a style we don't get to see you wear often.

I only have one hat to share today, a Dalton unlined as the temps climb back to the 80s.

I think I like this one best of your Daltons, Jim.

This is the third time I’ve reshaped this hat trying to find a style I like.
The right shape is in there somewhere, Brent. The colours are lovely.

Unseasonably warm weather, so my wife and I decided to take advantage and celebrate our anniversary a little early:

Borsalino Zeffiro withstood the breeze off of Lake Michigan as we walked along the boardwalk and the pier to East Pierhead Lighthouse in Michigan City.
Congrats to the both of you, Jonathan. Cool pics and cool hat.

It's been a busy week, so not enough time to comment on all the wonderful hats I've seen here (have to reserve some time to find new hats of course:)).
This week in hats.

Oh my, what an eclectic choice of style and colours.

These two really stand out. It's the subtlety of the colours that appeals to me, that and the way the hats compliment the outfit by topping it off perfectly. But then again, you have a knack at getting the ensemble just right.

Thank you, Robert. Keep going! :D The trenchcoat is versatile and useful in this in-between kind of weather. Have to be careful though: it can make me look like Inspector Gadget;)

Last day of straw for the year? Wearing my Knox raffia, because all the other straws have been stored away.

The heat dissipated, it was a beautiful evening for outdoor dining. No time for a barbecue, so pizza it was, with my first homemade fermented

habanero hot sauce. I can’t imagine I’ll have store bought again. I was in my Akubra Cattleman.

Sunday wouldn't be Sunday without your weeks worth of hats, Stefan. Glad to see you've had some autumn sunshine, too. As you say, it really makes hats shine. Particularly love the sheen on the Mossant Castor.

Morning dog walk in a Gannon Wanderer (inspired by Stetson of sad name) in a green moss. The sun was barely above the horizon when I arrived home and too the pics.

i-bsSCQzH-M.jpg

A Gannon Executive (natural beaver felt w/gill ribbon treatment) was my breakfast hat. A bagel and coffee were the menu items during a walkabout the property.

i-hzRnqmv-M.jpg

For a quick errand to the hardware store I wore a Gannon Wanderer (granite beaver felt with charcoal trimmings).

i-kzzZGpq-M.jpg

I removed the fleece and spent some time pulling up dock supports from the lake in a VS Wanderer (inspired by Stetson hat of said name). I know of no other way other than using a spade and knee deep in the water. This Artlite silverbelly felt is grand.

i-TRFsjj4-M.jpg

i-9hxMg9W-S.jpg

I needed a shower and a change of clothes from the dirty work early. I changed into a VS Wanderer (granite beaver felt, air vents with a "twist" (opposite of VS ribbon work) for interest.)

Mallory Aristocrat Quality to see Zac Brown Band. Our daughter Megan pulled in her connections allowing the whole family to pay tribute to her Uncle Danny and his favorite band. Special thank you to the band and especially vocalist/guitar John Driscoll Hopkins who went out of his way to make this happen. What an amazing show and fantastic food in the VIP lounge. I only wish Danny coulda been there to enjoy it… I know he was in spirit. Miss you brother. Megan made her uncle Danny proud!

What a great family tribute to your late brother, Joe.
Some great hats, too.
I don't know the band or the lead singer, but what a class act they showed themselves to be.
