I recently bought a Vanson Oxford in Octagon leather, size 40. What a beautiful color, but the jacket is about 1 inch larger in the pit to pit and hem than stated, so the fit is a little more loose or "relaxed" than I was expecting. The sleeves were accurate and a bit too long for me. I called Vanson and they can shorten the sleeve for me. They said they can take in the pit to pit and hem as well but that is quite an involved process that involves the sleeve attachment too. Total cost would be $370. If I did the sleeve only, it'll be about $160 for both sleeves.
On one hand I can add a streamliner to the jacket to fill it out and wear it on colder days, or just wear it as is.....a little loose. The other option is too have Vanson alter it, which means I run the risk that it may not turn out as I would like and then I would have burned my bridges.
Any thoughts on the fit? Any thoughts on if I should wear as is or alter? And if alter, then just the sleeves or the pit to pit and hem as well?
Anyone have any experience with Vanson's Streamliner? I've never seen one in person.
