The Fedora Store revamped website

The Fedora Store has recently changed hands. I bought 4 nice Beaver Brand hats from the old owner and was quite satisfied. Can't speak for the new owners.

Not impressed at all with the Fedora Store. I placed and order on 2/22/2012. Their website and email
invoice said that my credit card would not be charge until the hat shipped. My credit car was charged
that day so I assume it had been shipped with 3-5 days UPS at $9.87. As of today I have not received
it so I called. CSR said that it had to be manufactured first (even though the web site said it is in stock)
which would take 6-8 weeks and then it would be 3-5 days shipping and she said that the website saying
my card would not be charged until the hat shipped was an error or their part on the website which has not
been corrected. I cancelled the order and will be billed a $9.00 restocking fee. But they did apoligize.Won't
order from them again.

They charged you a restocking fee for something they didn't have in stock to begin with? What were they restocking?

Lacy said they charge a restocking fee on all cancelled orders.
Beats me. There are many other places to buy from.

I'm sure if you asked to speak to a manager they would have not charged the restocking fee. Charging a cancellation fee when someone cancels because of false advertising is not cool.

If it were me, I would call and raise hell until they canceled that re-stocking fee. I'm with felkor, charging a restocking fee on an item that they didn't have in stock is ridiculous.

How do you get billed for a restocking fee of something that was not in stock?????

Try calling them. But if that doesn't work then call your credit card company. Contest the restocking fee and let them know what happened. Your credit card company will have a lot more clout with the Fedora Store than you will.

Thanks for the input. I'm going to give them a chance for the
full refund or I'll contest the charge. They are off to a bad start
in taking over Duane's business.

I'd contact them back, demand the restocking fee, tell them their "business ethics" on the internet can make or break them, there should be no fee's for something they don't have in stock, period.

I know they say dont judge a book by its cover but by just looking at the new website I can tell I would not do business with them. The other side was cool with its` vintage appeal. THis one tries to be hipster and as a true hat lover that just turns me off.
