the deerskin trucker arrived today. My sister loves it, glad I was able to give it to her before she leaves after the holidays. The leather is fantastic, soft hand, lovely grain, drapes well, no strong chemical smell. It's so much nicer than the premium goatskin I received before. It might be their best leather yet. I'm ordering one for myself lol

Thanks so much, I certainly did nothing but steal your spec!
This jacket is based on winter half belt with Californian collar and cuff (with small modification), Shawn nailed almost every request I sent to him, which is unbelievable.
I think he is ready for 6-7 oz Horween hide.
You did it man. You took it to the next level. I am impressed to say the least. Can’t wait to see more pics!

What's your sleeve spec and back length on your winter HB? I am little concerned if 7"elbow will be too tight. Also hopefully the front will not look too long, I spec 25.5 on back length.

Good thing it did turn out this way. I just measured her great fitting fashion jacket to get to this trucker and super happy it fits great. It really helps when you specify your preferred measurement.

Thank you, man. She wanted something easy to wear and the deerskin fit the bill perfectly. Now I know why deerskin jackets are special, and this 5* one is really comparable to the deerskin I've handled at JL too.

I Hope the elbows are not too tight on you especially with the 4.25 oz cxl

You’ll be just fine. I spec’d the winter HB at 25.5” in back. Sleeve was 8.5” at bicep, 7” at elbow and 5” at sleeve cuff. That model had the best fitting sleeve in four attempts.

gorgeous stuff these past few pages. Wow! Well done, everyone. Really digging that trucker. I just bought a used Levis one. Depending on how that is, might have to upgrade to one of these deer skin ones. How complicated to attach those buttons, Jin?

It's better in person, man. Really nice up close, I'll get better photos next time when it's sunny outside. It will rain in the Bay Area tomorrow so I can't do it until Thursday (probably). It's not my jacket so I'm having jacket envy lol this black deerskin leather is perfect for a trucker. I don't know man, maybe get her one so you can also get one guilt free. . . Just saying

Worth the $350 I paid no question. A good 20 min job if you are patient, you just line up the button holes, mark the spot that you want place the buttons with the tack, then you puncture the jacket with a hammer using the tack, place the tack on the bottom of the jacket, align the tack with the button, use the hammering tool and hammer away. Repeat and that's it really.

fantastic. It's going into my bank of knowledge. Will someday use it for something.

If they do the deer in a blackened brown, wow, take my wallet for sure.

Happy to share, I'm sure there are better ways of doing it but that's what I used and it did turn out fine. I do want to add to hammer lightly at first then firmly to secure it, the button stem bends at a weird angle if you use to much force at first.

I hope they do offer that BB deerskin, that will be an awesome option.

me too lol

It’s TFL induced insanity. Maybe join a support group? I know I’m thinking about it. I just realised I forgot to tag you in my post for the great looking shearling vest you just received. Looking forward to see the fit pics of it!

If you want an unlined jacket, go for it! I’m really happy with mine, it feels great. It does not slip on as easy as a lined jacket, but it’s not a struggle either. And I like the feel of it. I was concerned that the underside of the leather would leave fluff residue on my T-shirts but that has not happened either.
I was also interested in the deerskin and after @Jin431 had his sisters jacket delivered I’m even more interested. What are you thinking for it?

Wow guys, I actually had to check twice whether or not this was the 5* thread. These jackets are on another level. Congrats @Jin431 @Seank @Hh121 . Chapeau!
I also noticed they upgraded their hardware.

New

These 'small' details are a huge improvement imo.

With this learning curve 5* will be making jackets on Freewheelers level by next year :p
