If it makes you feel any better, the Fifth Street boots are apparently being retooled in response to constructive criticism and are supposed to come out sometime in the near future. In the meantime, I have -- and love -- the Bayfield boots. I don't know that I would wear them with a city suit...- Tooch

Straight Razor Advice needed.
I've read "months" too, but I end up honing about every six weeks. I do have a very thick beard. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I start with an excellent edge and strop every day.- Tooch

Oh, I noticed this recently when I lost some weight. My 34-inch waist pants started looking like clown pants on me. But when I pulled out some trousers I purchased about 25 years ago, also with 34-inch waists, they were a little loose, but still wearable. So I broke out the tape measure ...- Tooch

All the previous advice is excellent. Let me add that if you're looking for a backup razor or two, don't be afraid to check out antique shops. One of the local stores near me ("2 acres of antiques") has about 30 straight razors in a case selling for a song. I picked up a ready-to-shave...- Tooch

New study- men enjoy their grooming time
I can usually make it to 11 am before I look like Fred Flintstone. I'll shave again if we're going out to dinner. Of course, that adds to my grooming time, but my wife is preening herself again alongside me.- Tooch

Nettleton Nettleton lizard tassle loafers. I'm not sure about the age, but they're old enough that the heels are sized separately from the rest of the shoe. That's a big plus for me, since I have mini-heels that swim in most modern loafers. These shoes fit like a glove.- Tooch
