I would like to put a hat rack on my wall. As long as the hats do not spend a long time sitting on the peg without being worn or rotated, there should be no worries about the sweatband getting deformed, right? So what type of hat rack would you recommend, or is there perhaps another solution I should consider?

If you have a forced air furnace in your house the biggest issue is the dust. Hats are dust magnets. In just a few days the horizontal surface of the hat will be dust covered. I keep mine boxed except when on my head.

I use these hanging on rolling garment racks

Ha, I never even thought of them as Indy hats (except for the Raiders hat I got from Busted Hats)

I just like a fedora with a 2.5 to 2.75 brim and a tall crown

Your dimensional collection is amazing and you wear those hats so well. I also have two bespoke dimensional brims (and 3 Fed IVs) so I'm with you - I love them!

Are the other hats you have from Busted not the same pattern as the Raiders hat?

You've hit it about in a nutshell. If you move the side pinches of a cattleman crease toward the front of the hat it will do something similar. The hat also has a mule kick indentation in the front of the crown. The challenge is to get a telescope depression happening on the top of a hat like this. The crown height does not allow the depth to do what I've done in the 5X CB hat shown below.

This video of Roy Rogers shaping a hat in his bathroom has been posted here before but you might have a hard time finding it, so here it is again:

Wow, deserves a revisit. New really took notice of Roy Rogers hat & it's a good style if you have a hat with a huge crown.

Anyone care to share their thoughts and photos of the akubra squatter?

Photos in the website don’t really seem very good, as if it’s basically a very short crowned fedora type hat.

I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ve got.

I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ve got.

The Akubra website claims the Squatter is only 120mm high. That's only 4.7 inches and seems exceptionally small for an open crown. But the Hattery website says it is 145mm (5.7 inches).

If I remember right, the Squatter used to be made in Superfine quality and (I believe) was unlined. Then it disappeared and returned a decade later in Imperial quality but this time with a liner. Has it changed again?

One important characteristic of the Squatter is its dimensional brim: the brim is bigger front and back then it is on the sides. The only other mass produced hats that I know of with dimensional brims are Indiana Jones models, which the Squatter eschews by binding the brim edge (IJ models have raw edges). This makes it unique and interesting (I have bespoke hats with bound dimensional brims, but I ordered them that way).

I have considered getting a Squatter but, like the Adventurer, the brim is just too big for my small head, so I stick with the Fed IV and the Campdraft.

Finally, this thread is for answering questions, whereas you seem to want discussion. You might find more of of that over on the Akubra Overload thread or there are numerous threads discussing the Squatter if you do a search for it. You might revive one of those threads.

Not saying you're wrong to post this here, just saying you might have more discussion on those other threads.

What techniques are best for restoring a snap brim in a fur felt fedora?

I find my Borsalino brim is a bit loose and ten to un-snap at the front, and is fairly flat as a result.

I’ve seen people use clear unscented hairspray on their hats with good results, but personally I’ve used 80% or higher rubbing alcohol (the clear kind) in a spray bottle and it will stiffen it right up
