Hi guys,

I don't know if you're still interested in pictures of the new GH 1000x's. I still don't have a digital camera, so I had Charlie send me some links to the pictures of the hats before he shipped them. After I got the Pecan one, I liked it so well that I had him make me a Silver Belly. Then I decided I liked the natural color, too. The natural is just as soft and silky as the others, so I guess Charlie doesn't leave them any furrier. I think I almost like the natural color the best, but I haven't had a chance to wear it yet. I had him make it a little less formal looking, as you can see.

By the way... He's got a post on the "Sterling Beaver Saloon" forum about some vintage bodies that he's got a line on. He hasn't gotten them yet to look at, but thinks they should be quite nice. I know that some of you here aren't particularly fond of him, but the post said that he was going to be selling them as raw bodies, as well as finished hats, so it might be a chance for some of us with larger heads to get a vintage felt hat made just the way we want it. If you're interested, take a look on his forum or contact him.

Here are the links for the pictures, if you're interested...

I like the Natural one the best.

I love my blue fedora so much that I have asked GH to make an off-white cream color fedora for me.

Thanks for the photos.

Back on topic

Have you a picture of the hat you got? Is it vintage? We were discussing GLADHATTER merchandise...and my last comment to the topic was that it looked like thick western felt. I can't really tell by digital pic s. I am glad Mr. Williams loves his new hat. Great look my friend!

Hi guys,

Thanks for the kind words... I'll try to answer some of the questions. As to the cost; I'm not one to brag about the things I have, nor the cost. I know that Charlie sells hats everywhere from about $70.00 to ultra custom hats for over $10,000.00. As far as them looking like cowboy hats; I guess that is one opinion. The photos were taken before I received them, so I hadn't done any tweaking at all. The hats in the photos are the actual hats I received, not samples. They are not only the first custom hats I've ordered, but are the first felt fedoras I've ever owned.

As Panamabob can attest, I was not a hat wearer at all until about a year ago. At that time, my son was called on a mission for our church and was sent to Ecuador to serve for two years. I thought that it would make me feel closer to him if I wore one of the Panama hats made there in Ecuador. I bought five different hats, including a nice one from Robert. I had two of them reblocked by Al, and still wear one of them every day. Robert can take credit for getting me hooked on the lounge here, and as I saw more and more of your fine hats, I wanted one more and more. I wear a size 7 5/8, and as you all know, that size hat doesn't show up very often on ebay, and those that do end up going for pretty high prices considering you don't really know what you're going to get, so I decided to have one made. My wife will verify the fact that I can't ever settle for just one of anything, so that's how I ended up with the three of them.

Keep smiling,

Myron

I wasn't asking anyone to brag, a lot of people here have very high end hats so it won't really impress anyone to any great degree if it was a high cost, I was just wondering what he charged for a hat like you recieved.

Fedora Lover,

I guess it would still feel like bragging to me... I'll tell Charlie that it's fine with me if he discloses the cost when you contact him.
