It looks good, weirdly I think it looks a good size when zipped, but like its a little small when open, maybe it just needs to be worn in... if it feels good I think you're good.

Hi,

I just bought (second-hand) an Iron Heart x Alexander Leathers jacket, made in Scotland from Horween Horsehide.
It's a size 38, a bit less boxy than a Highwayman cut, but boxier than the Premier Highwayman, I think.

Could you give me your opinion regarding the fit?
I also add a picture with a hoodie under the jacket

Thanks.

(I have the possibility to return it if needed)

As I've mentioned before, I think it looks good just the way it is.

What do you think of the fit?

If you like how it looks and feels and you feel comfortable and cool in it, don't listen to what anybody else says.

If you have doubts about how it looks or feels, send it back now. Because nothing any stranger tells you will make you wear it if you don't feel comfortable.

Hello all, I’m about to pull the trigger on an Aero Hooch Hauler. My final concern is the sleeve length. I’ve had several Boardracers with sleeve lengths spec’d at 23.75 inches, which seems to be a good length (see pic). Of course the Boardracer has zippered sleeves, whereas the Hooch Hauler will have a button cuff.

So my question is this: will the 23.75 sleeve length which works well on the zip-sleeve Boardracer also work on the button-cuff Hooch Hauler? For reference, the Hooch Hauler depicted has a sleeve length of 25.25 inches, so a reduction to 23.75 would shorten the sleeve only 1.5 inches.

FWIW the Hooch Hauler will be brown Pinnacle.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

On my very narrow subset of 2 specimens same sleeve length will be slightly longer on the Hooch Hauler as shoulders are a bit wider.
Both size 40 with 62cm sleeves but shoulder width on the Board Racer is 46cm vs 48cm on the Hooch.

Excellent fit. What type of "look" are you seeking? If you are looking for a properly fit A-2, then you have accomplished it. If you're looking for the "bomber" look from the 80's, then you need to go one side up. I wish the jacket could fit as well as they fit on you.

I am looking for some fit feedback on my Aero Leather Half Belt Deluxe in tumbled Chromexcel front quarter horsehide, size 40. The side adjusters in these photos are at the midpoint, which is where they were when it arrived. The leather is very thick (3.5oz/1.4mm) and stiff enough to stand on its own. It is brand new, so not broken it at all. How is the overall fit in your opinion? I have the option to have Aero make adjustments, but that window is closing.

The first 5 photos are with the jacket zipped, the last 5 are with it unzipped.

Aero’s product and sizing description:

Typical of the styling of the 1950s, the Half Belt Deluxe features a multi pocket design based on the basic 1950s Half Belted jacket first introduced in the 1930s, a more stylised and functional version of the original.

This model benefits from having a five pocket set up: one sloping ****** pocket with ring and ball zipper, two large cargo pockets with stud closing, with two hand warmer pockets (inserted) into the cargo pocket feature. We use a classic cord effect detail around the cargo pocket set, typical of 1930's to 50's American styling.

The sleeves have a stud closing/fastening in a blackened brass finish, again a feature of USA 30's to 50's design. The back of this jacket has a bi-swing back with a false belt feature (same as the Half Belt) and side adjusting belt and brass buckle, to ensure correct fit.

This jacket is a 1950s inspired design which offers a fit with quite a bit of room around the body which was typical of the more relaxed fitting styles of this era.

The perceived ‘correct’ fit of the 1950s was generally more ‘oversized’ than modern sizing, so we typically recommend either selecting your usual size for this style to achieve the intended ‘1950s’ relaxed fit, although many choose to size down for a more modern fitted look.

Additionally, the jacket’s side adjusters can be cinched in at the natural waist to provide a more fitted look around the waist while retaining room around the chest and shoulders, or alternatively, they can be loosened out to provide more room for layering.

I’d be interested in seeing it cinched fully and zipped. Maybe even overtop a thick sweater.
This looks made to fit over layers to me.

To me shoulder, sleeve length and chest looks good (I prefer wearability over a super fitted look). Overall length is a matter of taste, depends what you like. On the side view it seems like it protrudes around the belly area. I can not see if it’s too wide there or if there’s a bit of a belly underneath.

I really hope it isn’t a jacket that requires layers to fit properly. It is already very warm and a mid-weight flannel is about all I can comfortably wear with it without it becoming too restrictive in the arm pits and sleeves. I also have not seen anything from Aero materials that would suggest that this jacket is designed to be a layer piece. It’s getting returned if that is the case.

There is nearly zero belly underneath, this is the closest I have been to a six pack since college. It is a combination of the seam width, the stiffness of the leather, and the fact that it has not yet conformed to my body. You pointed out the one area that is am a little concerned with myself. I can’t tell if that is the “50’s style/fit” and how it is supposed to be until it relaxes a bit, or if it something I should have fixed.

Hi everyone,
Here’s a fit check on my FW La Brea.
I’ve had it for a little while now and I’m really happy with it — would love to hear your thoughts on the fit.
Thx

I am not a great fan of the style for various reasons, but as for fit, it fits you well, just as it is meant to fit. Neither a larger nor a smaller size would do you any good. You picked the right size.
