Good morning folks. I started out for a dog soirée before the sun rose wearing a Borsolino Misto. The lack of quality light to showcase the hat does not stop me from posting as this fedora is a favorite. Thanks for taking a look at my Misto in the new day's light. A flock of crows are in the top of some nearby trees making a huge noise this early morning. Shhhh, the neighborhood is sleeping. Best wishes, Eric -
A Bailey wool pork pie while shopping for weekly supplies. Enjoying the cool (bordering on cold) evening outdoors in my Habig, with a little Scotch.
Excellent hat and Scotch pic. You look much more relaxed in your evening pic. Cheers. I too went for essential grocery shopping. Grocery shopping I recall was really enjoyable and the selections at our neighborhood markets were exciting to pick from. That is not always the case and certainly not this early morning. Shelves had many empty spaces. I wore a Gannon Playboy (blue-mist beaver felt inspired by the Stetson Playboy's of the 40's) on my "adventure." Home and picking some more delicious raspberries. Best wishes, Eric -
Playing catch-up because my phone's been squirrelly lately... Thursday Playboy Friday Resistol Kitten Finish Beaver 15 Today, a Mallory XV.
Warm enough yet for straw. Out creek doggin’ with the “kids” and granddogs. Apparently there are burl rustlers in these parts.
Yep. I figure it was either the logging crew we hired (or the one the neighbor adjoining us did) after the big blow-down this Spring. Guess I'd better take the rest of it now. Man ... that tree had a lot of growing yet to do.
That’s ridiculous. The way they left the scraps behind, I’d guess it wasn’t the loggers. I have loggers come on my property and we mark everything together. They know damn well not to take anything that isn’t marked, and they Are extremely neat with cleanup. I’m sorry that happened to you Bob. That was a VERY big burl on a pretty small tree (maybe even a Milton Burl). Imagine what it would’ve looked like in 20-30 years. I’d be scanning with crosshairs
I want to thank everyone who appreciated the French "Morreton" hat so particular in the felt and colors. Then a mention to all those who wrote to me for my daughter Ginevra's degree in Japanese. To keep you informed, she will continue to attend Ca Foscari in Venice, residing, despite the uncertain health situation, with a master's degree in "International Relations". Davide, on the other hand, will be home for this year as his master's lessons in "Economic Philosophy" will be online. The University of Milan has few courses that require attendance Thanks Joe, French hats producers made some "weird" creation during their heyday Thank Alan. Venezia has resurfaced once again after the disaster of a year ago. The town is fragile as well as its ecosystem and, paradoxically, the few tourist visits have made it breathe. French hats are, sometimes, out of the flock Thanks Reggie. French hatters had some style some years ago Thanks Brent. The felt is a little bit odd but, as Reggie said, stylish. Thanks Stefan. It is time now to give air to some of the heather felts, finally Thanks. I will send the message to Ginevra, my Japanese is a little poor
