Thanks Red. It does have a pretty stellar finish. Good to see you back.

And what a nice hat to make your comeback with. That is a beauty.

Can't really tell you anything about Style-Rite Haven't been able to find any info. I know someone here posted a Beaver 20 by them a few years ago. I found this one at my favorite vintage store here in town. It's a nicely made hat with a sewn in pleated liner and great finish.

Thanks Rodney. I passed on this one a few times over the winter. Glad I finally decided to get it. Has a great sheen in the sun.

Thanks Stefan. I decided to keep them both safe, but I think I will pull out that combo on one of these next cool days when nothing dangerous (hat wise) is planned.

You sure don't make it easy to pick a favorite. All great. I do love the binding on the Mallory, but the Rat Gondin looks like such a sweet felt.

    Thanks all,
    Michael

Great to see you, Red! Things haven’t been same without your positive energy. Enjoyed the pics at Meyer the Hatter. Haven’t had an opportunity to make it down the the hat store yet, but it’s on my list the next time I’m in NOLA. Take it slow with the back. 800mg Ibuprofen every 12 hours and lots of rest usually does it for me.

Thanks. I do not dare to think of Max's gorgeous cabinets.

Either envy or the delusional thought to compete with those cabinets and their contents could drive a hat aficionado crazy. I choose not to think of Max's gorgeous cabinets, rather appreciate his posts of the dynamite hats.

    How is your hat auditorium?

Welcome sir. Your absence was noted and your posts were missed.

Well, I am actually posting from back home in SF, but my last stop in NYC this morning was at JJ Hat Center. I didn't buy anything, the other hat in my hand is my Penman that I had wanted to get customized by their in house milliner, Van Hyunh. Unfortunately, due to a fire in the adjacent building, their hat workshop is currently closed. Bummer! The hat on my head is my 40's Stetson Junior Cowboy.

A big thanks to posters over the past few days. The hat parade has been glorious. On with the parade!

In honor of Whippet Wednesday I am wearing said hat. This hat is has a blueish charcoal felt.

I was in that very spot a couple weeks ago. Didn’t buy anything either, just browsed the shop briefly. Van Hyunh was off when I was there.

I decided I had to get on the bicycle to run to the store. The wind was brutal, buy mostly normal to my travel vector. I left in my Canadian cap from 1952

Found it at the Goodwill across the parking lot from the grocery. The former owner chose the proper field, but made an unfortunate choice in schools. Go Iowa. Ha ha.

    Have a good afternoon,

Silver gray with just a hint of violet... much like April in Buffalo.
