It does have a plummy cast to the gray (prugna) though this is from the Borsalino family of metallic grays, plumbeo = lead.

On Bourbon Street, New Orleans, last week with street musicians in the background keeping me dancin'.

Modern Dobbs straw, other-than-eBay find a few months back.

All nice, Jeff, but that Knox homburg steals the show.

Twice, pause and twice more: I'll try to remember that. I hope nobody beat me to it when you answered the door!

Very nice hat, Alan. And cool that they even revived the old label format for their recreation of the brand.

    And much better than leaden.

I am so sad to follow the news from Paris... anything to lighten the darkness of that loss.

I did stop by Meyers. It was nice to visit and check out all the hats. I was a bit disappointed at the limited selection of higher quality hats (Royal Deluxe's, Premier Strats, and Excellent's) but I understand their need to cater to the tourist trade to generate enough sales volume to open the doors another day.

Ha ha, yes, that's a bright one. I got a new green hat today, so I had to pull the jacket out again and see if it still fits.

The jacket is a poplin number for the 50s or more likely 60s. It will be happier when I drop another 5 or 10 lbs. The hat is a woolie alpine from Germany.

Strictly tourist fare I imagine, but I couldn't resist the 3" of green brim for $2.

That is a tough pair to beat. I would probably be wearing one of those about every day of the week. Top drawer.
