WTB 50s-60s James Bond Style Trilby 7-1/2

Just looking for something out of the norm for me, a darker color would be preferred: grey, dk blue, black, etc.

A smaller brimmed fedora would work as well, just let me know if you have something up for sale...I'm not looking to spend *too* much, but that'll depend on the quality and condition I suppose

Anyone? No luck finding what I'm looking for (in good condition) on the 'bay.

Bond's original hat was a trilby from Lock & Co - the Sandown: http://www.jamesbondlifestyle.com/index_clothing.php?m=cl&g=cl038. Nice hat - very nice hat indeed - but very pricey. What you want is a classic English racing felt like the Christys Epsom or Wincanton, which you can find on Ebay for not very much.

I think Brooks Brothers imported Lock or Herbert Johnson hats in the 40s and 50s with the right look - you might find one on FL or on Ebay...

The ribbon's not quite right (too wide), and for the authentic English look you'd want to straighten the brim at the front almost all the way, but it's the general idea.
