Hello all

question to hat size.
Normaly i have a hat size 58 (7 1/4)
But i would to buy a vintage hat in size 61 (7 5/8). What can i do to make the hat smaller that he fits for me?

thanks for help and answers

mike
Mike the best is to find another chance to have the same hat in a size closer to your.
I'm between 59-60 depends from the producers.
I have some 61 cm. that with some difficult I can wear with padding, other fits well.
Do not shrink and do not spend money to reduce it even if it is a gem.
Three sizes are too much!

Hi everyone,

A couple months ago, I acquired this vintage straw boater at an estate sale. I can't seem to find anything online about the maker and am not sure if it's a quality hat or not.

Any feedback or info from the hat experts here?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies. I'll take a look at the thread referenced. Here are more photos of the interior. Hopefully, they'll enable more commentary.

It's really fantastic. I don't have any information on Firenze / Florence Straw Hat companies. Italy is the birth place of such hats so I think this is some type of localized weave. My guess is 1920s but could be a bit later or earlier. As Alan suggested please check out the Boater thread and if possible also post photos.

I forgot I made a photo copy of Societa Anonima E. Meucci, Fabbrica di Cappelli di Paglia, Lastra a Signa (Firenze / Florence ) catalog and company prospectus ( probably early 1900s) from the Gotisches Haus (Gothic House) Bad Homburg, Germany hat collection.

I also did some searching at the time and I remember there is a good amount information about the Firenze / Florence Straw Hat history which was a very important Straw Hat making center. Claimed birth place of Boater style Straw Hats.

Why are some Stetson Temple fedoras labeled Royal DeLuxe and others Sovereign?
Some Temples have Royal De Luxe embossed on the leather sweatband and some have the Sovereign.
Are they two different Stetsons of different quality?
I've noticed this on Ebay and Amazon.
Thanks for your input.

Sovereign Temples are older hats, I think. Stetson dropped that quality and went with the three designations in 2015 under Mr. Deckard. Temples are offered in both Royal Deluxe and Excellent now.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
