How would a 38 look? I think arms and hem might be a tad long, I am personally not bothered with the hem but the sleeves I'm not so convinced. A 38 might perhaps be too tight, though.
I appreciate your feedback Zoro. By the hem are you thinking too long mostly in the back? This particular style does have a pronounced back drop, or extended kidney panel. About a full 2". While I realize this is very functional on the bike, for my casual purposes I agree it does throw off the look a little. For my custom order I've already mentioned to keep the body length, or hem, uniform all the way around. Similarly I've also adjusted for shorter sleeves.

I think it looks big in the shoulders too. I know your arm is in an odd position, but it looks like you have a ton of space there.

Fair point. Are you possibly referring to the front of shoulder or all around? Pretty sure going down in size wouldn't be an option unless I were to significantly drop weight, and I certainly wouldn't mind being able to wear more than just a t-shirt layer underneath. Thanks for the feedback.

Look at pictures 3 and 4 where you can actually see your back. The back panel is bulging out in one and very wavy in the other. Look specifically at pic 3, youre reaching around the front of yourself and its still bulging with your arm extended. The mobility is supposed to come from the action back and the underarm gussets. As far as layering under leather goes, im not a fan. By the time its big enough to put a hoodie under it it doesnt serve its purpose without the hoodie.

I think that has somewhat to do with the style of full action back this jacket has. Definitely a bit of extra material there, but I really enjoy the freedom of motion it gives. I am very sensitive to the type of awkward bulging material you describe, certainly indicative of a poor fit. For sure everyone has their preferences for something like layering. No hoodie for me, but a nice thick sweater for cooler temperatures is great.

For me, it is hard to give feed back when a person is wearing short while trying on a heavy leather jacket. But by the way it appears to look a bit big on you. However, what ever you think works best for you is the final decision you take.

Sounds like there's a consensus with the too big. Maybe the pattern isn't the right one for me? Haven't placed the order yet as the leather type I wanted is not currently in stock, but definitely would double check it before dropping the $$. Thanks!

@Unrefined Vision I would really spend more time nailing down the pattern, fit, sizing, measurements and model before going forward with a custom order if I were you. For example the model A seems like a pretty poor choice for casual off bike use.

One more from me:

I love this jacket. The leather is great, construction is great and the design is super unique. However the fit is very boxy. I get that this is the design which is why I am coming to the forum for advice (as this is not the silhouette I usually go for). Can I pull this off?
IMO this short and broad silhouette is actually much more flattering for a male figure than a slim-fitted one. It creates that classic 1/3 top, 2/3 legs proportion — which was the standard up until the 1950s and, thankfully, is coming back into fashion now.
I think you absolutely can pull it off — and this jacket does a great job highlighting that shape.

Looks too small to me
I cant fit a sweatshirt under it, but that was the goal. It doesnt restrict movement at all. I actually think this fits about as good as my custom langlitz. It will probably see more use because its pretty light comparatively.

I'm trying on a Real McCoy J24 - size 42.

Any feedback? Is the size okay?
To all J24 owners, does the jacket unzipped suppose to look lopsided like that?

Looks good. The “lopsided-ness” I think you are referring to is most likely that the front panel with the D-pocket and zipped chest pocket is a bit stiffer than the other panel due to the extra material of the pockets and hasn’t been given a chance to drape yet. Just my guess..

That’s exactly what I was referring to! What you are saying makes sense. Thx!
