Help with definition

I seek the collective wisdom and experience of the lounge. I am working with a text from 1950 and I'm having difficulty translating a word from Yiddish. The etymology is most likely via Polish or possibly Ukrainian or Russian. Transliterated from the Hebrew letters, the word is "obodarnye".

In context it is a term that describes a building or place (described in the text as a barn or a shed) where "obodes" were manufactured/produced. With regard to time and place, such a production would have been active in the early 20th century or earlier, and associated with a heavily forested region of what is now north western Ukraine.

One source has suggested that it refers where wooden billets were produced and bent to make felloes (rims) for wagon or cart wheels. Perhaps making the term "wagonry" or "wheelshop" or something similar?

Does this term mean anything to anybody?

Not much help, but I've run across the word while researching the Holodomor. From context, I thought it probably had something to do with runners, as on a sled. From what I've been told by some friends, sleds and sledges were perhaps more useful to a farmer than a wagon from both cost and utility perspectives.

Thank you for your insight. It had never occurred to me that it might refer to sledge runners, which would make sense and fit the concept of something made of bent wood that applies to locomotion.

"Ободы" , "обода" or "ободья" mean rims, it is correct. Oбодарня -obodarnya- is some small workshop where these wooden rims were being produced.
An excerpt from Ukrainian historical website-
Для гнуття ободів у колгоспі була побудована спеціальна «ободарня»: «Ободарня була. Там стояв котьол, чугунний котьол наливали води. Ободарня була з дерева зроблені стєнки, накидано земльою, а там унизу викопана яма і поставлений котьол. Котьол гріли, він парив, накидали тих ободів повну тоту дюру. Влазило і трицять штук і розпарували» [6]. Процес нагрівання тривав близько доби, після чого заготовки гнули навколо грубого пня, закопаного в землю, діаметр якого дорівнював діаметру колеса.
