That's one fine hat, Cuz! Does the felt have a little blue-ish tint...or is it just picking it up from the accessories? Either way, it's the perfect hat AND day for doing what you're doing. I just got back home from the lake wearing a far more plainly hued 4X OR and I think I might indulge in a little of the same.
edit: This is a different OR than what I wore yesterday, but that doesn't mean I have any kind of hat buying habit or anything like that.

That's what I was told when I bought it, but perhaps it was the wrong information, nothing inside indicates King of the Road, other than the sticker with the model number, color,size, etc. I don't know much about Resistol western hats.
Perhaps you can post yours so I can compare it.
My apologies if I offended anyone for passing along what I was told.

Why in the world would anyone be offended? Many hats either never had names or the names weren’t marked anywhere on the hat. Resistol made some great western hats, and their wide brimmed fedoras are wonderful too.

My friend, at my age the last thing I'm going to do is engaged in trivial stuff, proof this or proof that.
That's not my style and I'm not fixing to start now. I took it down because I'm not entertaining nonsense. I loved and wore hats before the Lounge and I will continue way after it.

Sometimes there is some pettiness or boorish behavior here, but it’s usually from the same I’ll-mannered people that we have learned to ignore. For the most part we just enjoy sharing and learning about hats, and take each other as we are.

This is way too open ended. Soooo many different styles. Are you wanting felt or straw? Do you like modern or classic styles? Do you like large brims or more moderate brims? Is there a type of crease/bash you prefer? Imagine someone saying they want a “car” and ask for recommendation without providing and specifics. If I recommend a Porsche 911 and you need something to pull a horse trailer....

Thanks for the kind words. That's why I don't do social media, no Facebook, no Twitter, etc. I write my blog whenever I feel like it, and that's about it.
It is funny, I spent two years away from all my hats, but three, while we were in up state New York. I joined the Lounge because I figured once we moved back home, I was going to be able to participate and share some of my hats and stories. I noticed few things and ignored others, but when people start questioning my integrity or decide to take cheap shots for their own personal satisfaction, I know is not the place for me.
Having said that, I have also met some great gents.
