What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Very nice one Brent. I was just looking at some of their stuff on Etsy, as they also sell grosgrain ribbon. What’s your opinion on the workmanship and the felt compared to some of the other custom hatters ?

Their sweatbands are great, the ribbon is fine (I suspect it’s not cotton and rayon), and the felt is Tonak rabbit which is nice. This hat is from the antelope/suede finish line. The build quality of completed hats is good, and it’s getting better, but it’s not in the same league as the better domestic custom hatters. Think of them as a custom Akubra/Stetson with better felt. They are built to a price and I think they are a bargain.

Check out the dedicated Agnoulita thread.

Another beautiful day here, so I was sitting on the patio listening to music and finishing up my ribbon replacement on the Vintage Whippet. Another one with stains that I had to cover up with a 2” ribbon. Had to use Petersham, as that’s all I could find in that width with the color I wanted. Think it turned out pretty good though. I tried to copy a bow I liked that @alanfgag posted on the bows take a bow thread:

Not too bad I think. I tried to hide the threads on the back side:

Great work, Tim. One little niggle though: the end of the ribbon shows through the front bow a bit sharply. It would be even better if that was a smoother transition.

Greetings All:
Today....yesterday had somewhat of a wide ribbon Knox/Dobbs vibe so today a different Knox vibe.
Thin ribbon Twenty with that fine Knox CustomEdge treatment they do so well.
About as soft a hat, crown and brim, creases with just a thought. Surprising considering the little worn condition.
Be well. Bowen
Ps: as always thanks to each and all who always have kind words and likes.

Yeah, that was bugging me too. I meed to work on how the stiff piece goes in the front to keep a sharp straight edge. I’m about to do the Dobbs Twenty, so I’ll see if I can improve on it.

Thanks

AbbaDatDeHat,
Are those some little Maggies lurking in the background there? If so, you might want to pull them a little further out from the wall and maybe give them a little separation...

Now there's a thought.
Excellent Stetson sir and Thanks for straightening me out.
No problem at all, you probably had a nip out of the same bottle as:

Let's sort him out.

There again I'm probably wrong, chances are that you are both head over heels with such a pair of magnificent lids.
Warm enough, and sunny enough for a Panama.

Yes they are Steve and i know. I had a heck of a time carving our that space. It seems a cluttery old lazy guy is the problem.
I waited 40+ years to get those, i should treat my Maggies better.
