I've never actually seen the show, mostly because I don't remember them re-running it when I was young. I only know of Maynard G. Krebs because I watched Bob Denver on Gilligan's Island and The Good Guys and have had hopes that someone somewhere would eventually begin airing that Dobie Gillis show, but, so far, it hasn't happened.

Minor update for anyone who might be interested--the official cause of Betty White's death was a "cerebrovascular accident", the medical term for a stroke, which she suffered on December 25th according to her doctor.

Didn't recognize his name right away, but after looking him up, I do remember him mostly from Flight of the Phoenix.

Kruger also played Rommel in I believe War and Remembrance.

He had a presence on camera that is innate, a thespian craft skill that cannot simply be taught. RIP

Read an article once about the amazing amount of energy he put into each show. I may be misremembering the article, but I seem to recall that it talked about him actually losing weight during his performances. I remember this song bringing friends to tears. Very passionate performer. Full of soul. Amazing voice and take-no-prisoners stage presence. R.I.P.

One of several I never had the chance to see live, and now never will. My girls and I just watched him on a series called Ghost Wars. Another loss at a relatively young age.
