Hello everyone,
It's been a while since I've last posted and, alas, it's due to selling several of my fedoras. So far, I have three already posted and three additional to come. Please take a look. Thanks!
Decent Montecristi that I got from Panama Bob a while back...
I was watching Hannibal earlier today and was admiring the style of Hopkin's character Lecter and noticed his nice Panama hat. I thought I would google around for a pic of it and come to this article...
I'm selling my Official Indiana Jones Fedora. Here's the eBay listing:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220480586680#ht_500wt_1182
It's a size "Large" but is about 7 3/8 size.
I went on a trip and was able to visit my grandmother's house on my way back. While I was there exploring her old house and old things, I found a couple of hats that used to belong to my grandfather.
The first is a homburg by La Salle hat company. There is a tag on the inside of the sweat that...
Up for sale is a Stetson Medalist Milan hat, with a porkpie-style crease that has an optimo ridge in the front and top. From the research I've done, I'd estimate it to be dated anywhere from the mid 1940's to the early 1950's. The hat is in AMAZING condition for such an old hat. The ONLY sign of...
hey all,
I just picked up this Stetson straw from a local antique store and was wondering if anyone knows anything about it. It's made of gray straw (my guess Milan), and has the Stetson Logo (all in black) and says "Stetson Medalist." It also has a store logo which says "EMPSALL'S/ MEN'S...
Hi all,
I'm going on a little trip to Savannah, GA and I was wondering if anyone knew of any decent hat shops there. I figured an old city like that may have one. Thanks
Hey guys,
I've had my Stetson Leghorn hat for a little while now, and I love it, but it has this hole in the crown were the previous owner has handled it by the pinch too much:
I'm terrified that the hole is going to get worse if I keep wearing the hat, which I love to do :D Just looking at...
I've come across an interesting movie opportunity for anyone in the Dallas, Georgia area. A new movie is coming out, called "Get Low" and it's set in 1938. They need a few hundred extras dressed in vintage attire, so I figured this would be good to post for everyone here.
This is very late...
Hey all,
I managed to find this vintage panama at an antique store in my area and I was wondering if any of you guys could possibly give me an estimated date of the hat or any other info you can conjure up.
It's a Royal Stetson, 7 3/8 LO (it actually fits!), 2 3/4" brim, and 4 1/4" crown...
i figured that title would catch some glances at my post :D
Anyway, after coming in from the snow earlier, I set my hat down (vintage black Bond Executive) on top of a paper towel, and this is the result:
it bled out this brown stuff [huh] The stuff is clearly brown, but my hat is black and...
A few days ago (maybe it was last week) there was a thread that started about pictures of hats that have made it through inclement weather, but now I can't seem to find it anywhere! I searched with google, and went through the past few pages of threads here with no success, so maybe it was...
Hey everybody,
I just finished putting a new ribbon on my PanamaBob panama. It's one that I purchased off of ebay from them, and it came with a less-nice black ribbon (had no sheen to it) and a cloth sweatband, and is probably sub-fino (maybe less) quality, which doesn't bother me anyway (it's...
I recently purchased this hat and it is way to small on me, so I'm giving you guys a chance to save me by taking it off my hands. All I'm asking is $30, and that includes shipping.
here are the pics I have taken:
If you want to see some more pics, I can post them at your request. The...
Hey guys, I need some advice,
I recently purchased a Wright Mirakal on ebay, as pictured below, but it is waaaay too small! I'm between sizes 7 3/8 and 7 1/2, and this hat was advertised as a 7 3/8. This is what the listing said about the size:
"It is a custom hat with an opening measuring 7.5"...
I stumbled across this web page with current famous hat wearers:
http://www.thegoldenera.net/current_famous_hat_wearers.html
It's interesting seeing all these people I recognize from movies who are trying to bring back the hat!
