That derby is not only fabulous, but the poses you have it in are superb. I especially love the one on the fence post -but then I love the prairies of SD and MT so the background catches my eye. You have an eye for a good photographic composition in all these.

For the Homburg & Festivity series, debuting today, here is the first of the series.
Antonin France - Chapeux de Luxe the size is 60 cm. or 6 1/2 in France. 90% hat made before the Second War.
It is unlined and made of light felt, very malleable and has an excellent fit. The felt is of medium-light gray surrounded on the brims by a ribbon that matches the color and the ribbon that surrounds it is in black.
Very impressive like all French homburgs of the period, it is more "square" than round or sharp like other homburgs made in Europe.
It would have a place in the hard-to-find circle, but we just leave it to do its share of the good hat of the time gone by

Borsalino Marque Grand Luxe XXXXX
Ghiaccio (Ice/Sand) Supershort Velour like felt
4 3/4 crown as shaped (5 inch open)
1 1/2 black grosgrain ribbon
1 7/8 raw edge brim
Just in time to join in the StingyMas fun! This beautiful stingy brim Borsalino came off a tip from @deadlyhandsome. The thin lightweight felt is a super soft almost velour like felt with an extremely short nap. The color is Ghiaccio.... Ice grey with sand undertones. The ribbon color name I couldn’t make out exactly but appeared to be D. Marine.. though appears to be black. A black yellow and red feather is tucked behind. The brim comes in at just a hair under 1 7/8 with a nice sharp raw edge. The manufacturing tag points to early to mid 1960s. The only damage appears to be a circular groove in the brim.. possibly from over aggressive cleaning and a couple of tiny tiny moth nibbles under the brim. It weighs in a fit trim 94g.

I bought this a couple of years ago from Steve @mayserwegener. Mid to early 1950's Mayser Milz Cie, Carlton Samich Extra. One of the finer hats in my collection.
On the strength of their liners alone they had to be included, Joe!
