Here in Japan the only available Open Roads are th Japan edition in wool felt, or the 160th edition open crown.
It seem the dimensions of the 160th are a bit bigger than the regular one, wider brim, a bit taller.
For those that have them, how does the felt differe, and is it worth the extra cost.
For what it’s worth while I like the Open Roads, I don’t I don’t feel like I want to wear a cattleman crease, so reshaping would be inevitable.
The 160th was made in 6x felt, which I still feel like was an odd choice. The felt is pretty stiff, definitely not like vintage. I kept mine with a simple center dent. I do like the block they used, definitely preferable to the tapered, pre-creased cattleman. It's a nice novelty of modern Stetsons, but TBH it would not be my first choice if I were looking for an open crown hat. I don't regret the purchase (I pretty much knew what I was in for), but it's not like an instant favorite or anything.
