I'm looking for a nice quality replacement sweatband, and I don't like the cardboardy look of most new ones I've seen. I'm wondering where I can get a nicer quality one.

Has anybody used these sweatbands? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Finest-Roan...?pt=US_Hats&hash=item35b20ae297#ht_500wt_1219

Does anybody have a different source for nice quality sweatbands?

JWhats.com has come up several times when people have discussed this topic. I only recall positive feedback on his sweats.

Has anyone seen Mandy Patinkin in Homeland? In it, I think he is wearing a peebles cap, but I am not nearly bright enough to know if that is the case. Unfortunately, google is not helping me locate clear, in focus photos of the hat he has worn in both episodes. If anyone has seen it and has any ideas as to where I could locate that hat, it would be greatly appreciated.

I know that this subject has been raised before, but I cannot find any resolution to the question.
I want to purchase a Borsalino, Alessandria. I've given up on a vintage, as I wear a 7-1/2, and I'm not willing to wait forever to find one.
The question is between Bencraft and DelMonico Hatters. Other than the cost, the hats don't appear to be the same. The noticable thing is the brim width. Bencraft offers the hat with a 2-1/2" brim and DelMonico is a 2-3/4". Does anyone believe that Borsalino make different Alessandria hat for different hatters? If there is a s resolution to this question, please direct me to the thread.

Thanks, BR

The hat is available in a variety of brim widths. Buy the hat from the source that stocks the width you prefer.

I see what you mean, as the top of the hat is cut from view:

My Bencraft Alessandria thin ribbon was 2 3\4. Hope this helps.

Is it too late in the year to sell (or trade) a really good vintage Panama? Do you think it would be better (from the seller's perspective) to hold the hat until next Spring?

A couple of quick questions, if I may.

1) What would be a good hat match for a late-40s demob suit? I'm in Australia, and have won a dark blue suit, but am not sure what type of hat would be appropriate for the time and style. I'm going for an early post-war Australian or British look.

2) Was the expectation held that people should have a colour-matching hat for their suit, or was it OK to have a different-coloured hat? It's hard to tell in many black and white photos.

Cheers,
Matt

My thoughts:

• The serious buyers for a really good vintage panama are probably shopping year round.
• Fall is a better time to capture discretionary spending than in the spring.
• It's always about to turn warm somewhere.

Thanks dude (and with bullet points even)! I may float one in a week or two.
