Can someone point me to a good how-to on replacing sweatbands? Also a good source for replacement sweats?
Can someone point me to a good how-to on replacing sweatbands?
I'm looking for a nice quality replacement sweatband, and I don't like the cardboardy look of most new ones I've seen. I'm wondering where I can get a nicer quality one.
Has anybody used these sweatbands? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Finest-Roan...?pt=US_Hats&hash=item35b20ae297#ht_500wt_1219
Does anybody have a different source for nice quality sweatbands?

I want to purchase a Borsalino, Alessandria. I've given up on a vintage, as I wear a 7-1/2, and I'm not willing to wait forever to find one. The question is between Bencraft and DelMonico Hatters. Other than the cost, the hats don't appear to be the same. The noticable thing is the brim width. Bencraft offers the hat with a 2-1/2" brim and DelMonico is a 2-3/4".
Has anyone seen Mandy Patinkin in Homeland? In it, I think he is wearing a peebles cap, but I am not nearly bright enough to know if that is the case. Unfortunately, google is not helping me locate clear, in focus photos of the hat he has worn in both episodes. If anyone has seen it and has any ideas as to where I could locate that hat, it would be greatly appreciated.
Is a 2 3/4th brim bigger than a 2 5/8th?

Try doing the math. 3/4" is LONGER than5/8" by 1/8" .Is a 2 3/4th brim bigger than a 2 5/8th?
I know that this subject has been raised before, but I cannot find any resolution to the question.

If there is a s resolution to this question, please direct me to the thread.

Was the expectation held that people should have a colour-matching hat for their suit, or was it OK to have a different-coloured hat? It's hard to tell in many black and white photos.
Is it too late in the year to sell (or trade) a really good vintage Panama? Do you think it would be better (from the seller's perspective) to hold the hat until next Spring?
My thoughts:
• The serious buyers for a really good vintage panama are probably shopping year round.
• Fall is a better time to capture discretionary spending than in the spring.
• It's always about to turn warm somewhere.
