Have you tried steaming the brim and manually flattening the brim to your desired flange?

I figured there was a way to reduce the cupping on the brim, which is why I asked (I have limited knowledge and there are many experts on here)... so just steam the brim and push down?

Steam and go slow. Lots of small applications/modifications are better than big ones. The steam makes the felt more workable...it’s not tough, just go slow.

There’s a thread all about that. Googoo “sweatband replacement Fedora Lounge.”

Has anyone had their Tapatalk site freeze up? It got stuck on a certain thread, won’t respond to anything and now I can’t use it. What to do now?

Scott, aka @bond in the Lounge, and owner of finevintagefedoras on Etsy, lives near Milwaukee.
I met him there a couple of months ago, and he sold me two magnificent Optimos at a good price.

Greeting fellow loungers, been a while.

Anyway I was wondering if anybody can comment on the below hat (only pics and info I have) and provide any info or insights. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Bob, I actually was looking for that thread....will do some reading when I get a chance. Deciding if it is worth taking the time to take a look at the hat since all the info I have is the 2 pics and have no idea of the sizing!

Not a lot to go off of, but that looks like a more modern No. 1 Quality swear based off the thickness of the felt and the color/texture of the leather.

Thanks Jared. I was kind of figuring it was not that old....probably not worth the time.

I think it's 60 plus years old, from what I can see.

  20. Texture, width, and logo impression point to one from the mid to late 60's......they did some of those ribbon styles then too....I think I even have one listed just like it in my one of my catalog postings....
